Achanta Sharath Kamal upset world #13 Jorgic to make it to last 16 at Singapore Smash. Quite amazing that at 41 Sharath Kamal is still able to produce these kind of results.

Mukherjees lost 1-3 against world # 8 pair.

Yes, she needs but the way these women players are performing against these top Chinese players is making me feel there is small hope of something miraculous happening in Paris olympics from them.

Makes it even better that there are 4 singles and 1 doubles in olympics as against 5 singles at WC as Mukherjees are a very competitive pair against world's top pairs. Only thing is due to that Sreeja may have to be dropped to accommodate both.

Sharath Kamal will become the no. 1 Indian with this result overtaking Harmeet Desai. He will move closer to entering top 50 in the world rankings.

In the Round of 16, he will meet Omar Assar (EGY,22)

And Shararth Kamal beats Omar again in straight games to reach QF. He is the first Indian to reach QF of this level event I think and he will reenter top 50 in singles rankings again with this.
