3 of our men beat the #’s 11, 12, 13 in the first round. Two of those were upsets. Hopefully, they can build on these wins…

As expected Sindhu lost tamely to Tai. Prannoy won. Srikanth beat Lakshya Sen. So 2 Indians in the quarters.

As put in his thread, 21 year old Priyanshu Rajawat put up a great fight against world #2 Indonesian Ginting before he lost 15-21 in third game.

Satwik-Chirag too are thru to QF.

All 3 of our players/pairs are facing much higher ranked ones in QF. So, going to be tough.

Prannoy and Sat-Chi are thru to Semis with straight set wins over their opponents. Its heartening to see new talent like Priyanshu Rajawat, Kiran George emerge in Men's Singles.PR gave a good fight to Ginting of Indonesia in 2nd round. Not sure why we are not seeing any new talent in Women's singles after Sindhu.

Excellent win by Satchi over world #1 pair. Good to see them having such a run in biggest tournament in this series after 3 bad weeks. Prannoy gets his first win over the Japanese Kodai after 4 losses. Both great results for us.

Satchi play 12th ranked Korean team in the SF. Satchi are 2-1 against them in head to head but 2 of those 3 matches went into extra points in third game and the Korean pair won Malayisian masters title 2 weeks back. So, it is going to be another test for Satchi.

Prannoy plays world #1 Axelsen. Cannot get tougher than this for him.

Seems like Satchi pretty much trashed the #1 team.

Victor is in GOD mode and defeated Prannoy 21-15 21-15. Prannoy never looked like a threat to Victor through out the game. The way Axelsen is playing Li Shifeng and Ginting will only be fighting for the silver medal in the other semifinal.

Good luck to SatChi for the 1st S-1000 medal.

India’s top men’s doubles duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty beat reigning world champions Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik of Malaysia 21-17, 21-18 in the summit clash of the Indonesia Open on Sunday.

The first game saw the Indians stuttering at start, however, they picked up pace and by the end of the mid-game interval, they were leading 11-9. In contrast, the second game started and the Indians dominated the proceedings. Though the Malaysian pair did come close towards the end, they were unable to withstand the pressure and succumbed to it.

Happy the prediction came true. Hoping the other 2 youngsters - Priyanshu, Kiran George will shine in upcoming Olympics qualification tourneys.

You forgot, Lakshya. He is still a youngster. :D He is currently lying third in olympic qualification ranking behind Prannoy and Srikanth. We can get only 2 to qualify for any category provided 2 are in top 16. It would be bad for Lakshya to miss out on even qualifying for olympics after that all promise shown last year.

What is surprising to see me why most of the Indian contingent not playing the next few weeks (Taipei, Canada, US).

Prannoy is still in the Taipei draw next week and PVS and Lakshya are playing the American tournaments, but the latter has drawn Kunlavut in the first round in Canada.

Are Treesa/Gayatri injured? Arjun and Dhruv should be playing these tournaments as well.

Olympics, unlike BWF tour events, actually puts a lot of importance to the seedings. Satwik/Chirag should be aiming for a top-4 seed and hopefully Prannoy and PVS can get a top-8 seed.

The key words here are "Will Shine" :p , Lakshya has already been shining well. I am hoping there will be huge competition for the 2 slots between Prannoy,Srikanth,Lakshya and Priyanshu. I am secretly hoping the youngsters will edge out the Seniors by the time qualification cycle ends.

Any link for the Qualification rankings? I used to find "Race to Tokyo rankings" by BWF...but not finding similar link for "Race to Paris rankings"...as we know the rankings used are only calculated using points accumulated from May 2023 and all prior performances come to naught. So "Overall" world rankings do not apply to qualification.
