There was also Asmita Chaliha in the women's singles who lost to the 4th seed. Wonder what happened to Saina.

Yes, excellent win by Srikanth over 5th ranked Kumlavut.
However, Lakshya Sen lost against 14th ranked Angus from Hongkong 14-21 19-21.

Srikanth lost to a qualifier today. Sindhu and Prannoy are through to the semis. Prannoy faces the qualifier while Sindhu plays a lower ranked Indonesian. Both are winnable matches.

Re: Badminton Asian series tournaments May-June 2023
Srikanth had the easiest match of the 3 and after winning the first game he was leading 15-13 in the second game only to sqander it awy with series of errors as he is prone to these day.
Very good wins by Prannoy and Sindhu against whom they had losing record before today's matches.
At Malaysia Masters 500
[QF] (6) PV Sindhu (IND,13) d. Zhang Yi Man (CHN,18) 21-16, 13-21, 22-20
[QF] HS Prannoy (IND,9) d. Kenta Nishimoto (JPN,13) 25-23 18-21 21-13
[QF] Kidambi Srikanth (IND,23) l. Christiana Adinata (INA,57) 21-16 16-21 11-21
Next,
[SF] (6) PV Sindhu (IND,13) vs. (7) Gergoria Mariska Tunjung (INA,9)
[SF] HS Prannoy (IND,9) vs. (Q) Christiana Adinata (INA,57)
Head to head against Tunjung is 7-1 in favour of Sindhu but in last match in April Tunjung thrashed Sindhu for her first win and after that Tunjung has shown improvement and is now actually ranked higher than Sindhu now.
Prannoy has an easier match but has played long matches in all 3 matches this week. So, he will have to find the energy to win another match.

Re: Badminton Asian series tournaments May-June 2023
Prannoy will be even more tired as all his 3 matches went to more than an hour and last match to more than 90 mins.
Hope at least one of two reach the final.

Can you believe this?? Holy crap. A 211-shot rally?? One of the most incredible things I have ever seen. I counted and I thought it was more than 211, but anyway... Just watch.

Sindhu lost. Prannoy's opponent got injured and gave a walkover. Prannoy was leading. Hope he goes on to win this event.

Re: Badminton Asian series tournaments May-June 2023
Prannoy wins. At an individual level this is arguably his biggest title win.
