Just saw that Vaidehi and Shirvalli along with Zeel and Sowjanya are in entry list of W25 in Thailand the week after next (May 29). They preferred to go there instead of staying on Korea where there are 2 more weeks of W25 after next week presumably because entry list is much weaker there. Vaidehi will be a seed and Shrivalli directly in main draw. Also may be stay expenses are cheaper in Thailand than in Korea.

There is only 1 week of W25 in Thailand though. After that there are a couple of weeks of W15's there.

She did go there. Soha Sadiq (IND,1290) l. [4] Dabin Kim (KOR,647), 06 46... Soha actually put up a good fight in the second set and was up a break 4-3 and serving. Got broken back. She had some 4 bps in a very long service game with 8 or 9 deuces net but couldn't pull off a break. Then Dabin broke her. Soha, who is Sahaja's hitting partner at Bengaluru, iirc, also had DF problems. Eight of them. That never helps.

At Goyang ITF W25

[R1] Vaidehi Chaudhari (IND,497) vs. (7) Ya-Hsuan Lee (TPE,382)

So, Vaidehi again gets a seed in first round.

Vai wins 6-4 6-4 :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Moves to #486 in the rankings now.

Most likely to play her doubles partner, F Liu (#577) in R2. Liu used to be ranked as high as #127 before covid and is making her way back into the tougher league this year. No match is a gimme at this level, I hope Vai continues her form this week. Pretty please 🤞🏽

It will be a big surprise if Vaidehi can beat qualifier Liu,who is way under-ranked (only because she has played only very little the past year). That lady is on an 8 match win streak, including her title at a Monastir W15 two months ago, after which she again didn't play anywhere for 2 months. Straight set wins in 8 matches and only one set even went to a 6-4 score. She just smoked #442 Arakawa by a 62 61 score. Vaidehi will need to bring her best to pull an upset over this qualifier (yes, it will be a big upset in my mind!). It's like last week when she pulled one upset and then ran into the hot qualifier of the week in Yujin Ahn.

As expected, Chinese proved too strong for Vaidehi.

At Goyang ITF W25

[R2] Vaidehi Chaudhari (IND,497) l. Fangzhou Liu (CHN,714) 26 46
