I really think there is some injury. Otherwise how does he lost by that kind of scoreline against player ranked outside top 750 in the world. I have never seen such thing happen to a supposedly top 200 level player for such a long stretch of time.
A one off loss is ok but he is consistently losing to such players in last few weeks especially when he is supposed to have a big serve which usually gives a lot of free points.

For the next 2 weeks he is lined up for Challengers in Europe subject to making a cut and if there is a injury issue, no player would take such a huge risk and keep on playing that too for a Futures, only an idiot would.

Plus these are not 250/500 where you earn 4 to 5k dollars even for a R1 loss , so one can take a risk for this incentive, but at these Futures the prize money for R1 loss is $200.

Hope he is not into betting. This string of losses just doesn’t happen in the pro world.

The betting doubt has crossed some people's minds. Hope not.

Yes, these losses appear worse than usual. However, note that his MO is to play a lot and lose a lot and then play himself into form for 5-6 weeks in the year (out of 35-40) when he collects most of his points. He had some success towards the end of last year when he won a couple of challenger rounds and qualified into an ATP 500 event. Hopefully, his occasional run of form is right around the corner.

4th seed Digvijay got a retirement from qualifier Credit Chaiyarin (THA,NR) at 3-3 in the first set at the Jakarta M25. But SD Prajwal Dev lost 46 16 to M Rifqi Fitriadi (INA,804).

For the record (as the final score was not posted above), top seed RamK had lost 06 26 to Ray Ho (TPE,759). Can't find any ray of hope in RamK's results lately.

Digvijay plays Koki Matsuda (JPN,890) in second round.

so
[SF] (4) Digvijay Pratap Singh (IND,524) vs (2) Yanki Erel (TUR,463)

He gets 8 points to take his total to 76 and should move just inside #500 after a week.

Good to see him beat players lower ranked than him. If he does that consistently then he would win more ATP points. All the best for sf

In the doubles final at the Jakarta M25, the second seed Parikshit Somani and Ray Ho (TPE) finished runners up to the top seeded Aussie pair, Matthew Romios and Brandon Romios, after a 57 46 final. Parikshit/Ray had beaten the 3rd seeds in a 67(5) 76(1) [10-1] with a blitzkrieg at the end, winning 17 of the last 19 points (impressive!). The top seeds had beaten unseeded Sai Karteek Reddy Ganta and Teertha Shashank Macherla 64 64 in the QFs earlier. 23 year old Parikshit Somani is a good doubles player and will move closer to another career high inside top-310 after a week.

Shivank Bhatnagar has been given the LL spot this week. He is also playing doubles with Mao Takada from Japan. The rest 7 Indians couldn't make it into the main draw. DPS is coming back next week along with Nitin Kumar Sinha.

Shivank had lost to the American kid, Aayush Bhat in Q3. Aayush would have preferred the LL spot though, as he ended up with the top seed Jason Jung and lost 16 16 in the R1 today. Shivank is playing a three-setter, but down a break in the third now. Shivank actually has some good skills and abilities. seems to hit the ball without getting tnentative, but makes mistakes too. Probably beginning to play quite well. He is 22 and lost a lot of time to Covid while coming out of the junior years (but he didn't play much in the juniors and didn't do too well when he played either).

Update: Shivank lost to Tomislav Edward Papac (AUS,1243), 63 57 26. He had a chance but let it go with some errors late in the second set, and folded in the third. He may have twisted his ankle too? Anyway, he too needs to believe that he can win, before he will start winning. The story of so many of our players.

[By the way, in that final Q match, the live video stream feed showed BHA playing BHA, and you couldn't tell which one was Bhat and which was Bhatnagar :) ]
