Re: European Challengers 2023
Rain stopped. Matches about to resume.
Edit - It looks like only one of the 4 courts were playable. Revised OOP doesn’t show Sumit’s match today. None of the doubles R1 matches involving Indian players have been played yet either. Going to be a tough week!

Re: European Challengers 2023
Not yet. Only that middle court dried up for them to play. In the livestream from that court (Madaras vs Diez), we can see the far end of Sumit's court on the left side and it still has some wet patch. I don't know if they will restart the match today... We will see.

Given the loss of the first set in over 1 hour, the reset is probably good for Sumit. Hope he can take advantage when they resume and he has regained his energy to grunt.

It does not appear in order of play now. So, maybe it is pushed to tomorrow.jayakris wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 4:53 pm Not yet. Only that middle court dried up for them to play. Re: European Challengers 2023
It appears in tomorrow's schedule. Restarting at 10 am Thursday. The winner will have to play the QF also tomorrow.

Re: European Challengers 2023
Sad. It seems Sumit had an injury time out after the first game in third set when he pulled up with some stomach issue. I did not watch later but maybe that injury affected him later.

Re: European Challengers 2023
Just see the post above yours. Sumit had an injury break at 1-0 in third set and after that Sumit's game was not the same and he won only 1 of next 7 games. Also Valkusz is pretty damn good. He thrashed the top seed Dougaz 61 61 in the QF later today.
Btw, Bala and Jeevan are thru to SF here while our other pairs/players lost in first round.
[R1] (1) N.Sriram Balaji (IND)/ Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan (IND) d. Alex Lawson (USA)/ Michail Pervolarakis (GRE) 76(5) 57 10-8
[R1] Luca Margaroli (SUI)/ Ramkumar Ramanathan (IND) l. Karol Drzewiecki (POL)/ Kacper Zuk (POL) 36 57
[R1] Anirudh Chandrasekar (IND)/ Vijay Sundar Prashanth (IND) l. Orlando Luz (BRA)/ Fernando Romboli (BRA) 46 67(7)
[R1] Purav Raja (IND)/ Divij Sharan (IND) l. (WC) Berk Bugarikj (MKD)/ Kalin Ivanovski (MKD) 64 16 7-10
[QF] (1) N.Sriram Balaji (IND)/ Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan (IND) d. Karol Drzewiecki (POL)/ Kacper Zuk (POL) 63 64
Next,

So, not physically fine. There goes that patch of good form from Sumit ... Now we wait to see when he gets back to it.

Re: European Challengers 2023
Hope this was something minor (like a cramp) or something similar. After winning the first game of the 3rd set, he won only 2 points in the next 3 games but was seemingly much more competitive in the last 4 games (just based on the point data; I didn't watch the match). Hoping for the best physically!
