Another Indian golfer (the other being Aditi in Asian Games) who led going into the final round on Sunday but fell short to come in 2nd.

For Chikka, 2 bogeys and no birdies on his back 9 did him in. The South African who won the tournament did the opposite (3 birdies and 1 bogey on back 9)

I was actually expecting Gaganjeet to make a charge on the final day, and he did initially, but then he too fizzled out.

Next up on the Asian Tour is the $2,000,000 International Series Singapore tournament to be held in Singapore from October 5-8 2023.
There are currently 11 Indians listed in the field.

After the 1st round, Karandeep Kochhar was the highest placed Indian - tied for 5th at -4 (4 shots behind the leader who shot -8). The 2nd round is in progress as I type.

Good showing so far by Kartik Sharma to be Tied-5th at halfway stage, although he is 5 shots behind the leader. He is only 23 years old, and I hope he has a breakout tournament. We need someone to jump out of the pack (of young promising golfers from India) and start a journey towards the upper echelons of the game. The last one to do so was another Sharma (Shubhankar) but that feels like ages ago. Does anyone have any insight into Kartik's potential?

Many a times our golfers don't string together 4 good rounds. In the previous tournament, Kochhar was also Tied-5th at one point (after 1st round) but ended up Tied-19th in the end. Perhaps Kartik will construct 4 solid rounds here?!

Macao Open has been a very productive event for Indian golfers. In last 7 editions, Indians have finished in top-2 in 6 occasions including 3 titles.

Honey Baisoya is on fire in the 4th and final round! He is at -16 (5 under par in the 4th round through his 1st 9 holes) and is in a Tie for 4th. Unless someone goes really low in the final round or the top 2 (at -24 and -23 respectively) both have a meltdown, I think it is a 2-man race for the title as they are leaps and bounds ahead of the 3rd place golfer (at -17) at this point. Let's see how high our golfers can finish!
