In a propaganda world, night is day. They just make up stuff.

And, if we need centuries in SENA, we will go with KLR, SKAY, and RGS. 8 bowlers!

So SMT is an useless tournament. Ryan Parag & Abhisekh Sharma's performances are useless. We are not playing in SENA, so we dont need them to score tons in West Indies. These chokers can't get picked everytime in WC

Then don't post junk articles that complains about Gill not having centuries in SENA. Not many do.

I am all for trying Abhishek and Parag. Not for proven failure Ishan. Play Jitesh.

Here are all our players who have gotten at least 30 dismissals in T20Is. Ishan is the slowest just slightly better than Gambhir, who was the worst. Gambhir played in a different era, when scores were lower, bats weaker, etc. Note our current lot players are all in the top of the list. Pant and Ishan are the slow coaches in this era. Iyer ain't too good either.

But, how is Gill a tuk tuk player ? On which stats, he played in IPl, not SMT and was more successful than the players you mentioned. He did not even play for India in last T20 world cup . So, how is he a choker in world cups ? Based on 50 over world cup ?

How many IPL successful players made India win T20WC after 2007 ? Infact India won it before IPL started. Not only in 50 Over he also failed in WTC final

Failure in one game, even though it’s the most important game, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t choose the best from IPL. It was Gill last year, and Ishan the prior year IIRC. So, I’m with Sameer—if IPL isn’t the most objective measure to base the selection on, then what is? I can’t understand how Gill and Ishan are slow pokes at all. Ishan never had the security of being a permanent member, so he is probably not able to play as is his natural wont. Rinku Singh may have to go through a similar phase. It’s very difficult in the Indian system to count on a long rope. I simply ask for multi-dimensional players and a decent strike rate. For bowlers, I’d prioritize strike rate over RPO in T20.

Yet, Rinku Singh has succeeded. Ishan has failed. Sorry, that excuse does not cut it that you are terrible all over the world mostly because you do not have a guaranteed slot. You do not have a guaranteed slot because you are terrible. As the numbers show, very few Indian players have gotten more than 30 at bats. Ishan should consider himself lucky. They kept picking him in T20Is one series after another despite poor performances; one series after another. If he wants to use the excuse that he batted slowly over all his career and failed to hit because people did not guarantee him anything, then only he is to blame. If you want qualitative proof, run match after match after match. Kishan did very well in the IPL some years. Then, we gave him chances and he came a dud in the T20I games. We can't afford another SkAY in that we just pick him just because ignoring what his performances in the field are telling us. We need to have a backup keeper ready. Even if we are banking on Rahul. Pick someone else and give them a decent run. Jitesh, Hitesh, Putesh, anyone who has done decently in the IPL. I think that would be Jitesh and Prabhsimran.

In the first match, he played a maiden over not because he wanted to but he was hapless. He just could not hit. Then, Yashasvi tried to compensate and got out. He mainly hit Sangha the spinner with whom he has a good matchup being a leftie. In the second match, he must have played well. I don't know whom he hit because I did not watch it.

Just watch Ishan's batting against pacers, when the wicket is doing a little bit, etc. He has the arm strength no doubt as you see in the IPL. (And by arm strength I mean hitting technique, etc. Not just literally arm strength.) Don't know why he cannot hit the pacers in international cricket. Maybe he is a mental midget. He looks scared/upset/stressed at times to me but maybe that is his normal demeanor.

Why are we not complaining that we stick to that tried and failed stupid formula of 5 bowlers who cannot bat especially in T20.

We will continue to fail with that strategy.

My Playing 11 should be

Jaiswal, Gill, Sky, Pandya, KL, Rinku, Tewetia, DLC, One of Bumrah / SIraj/ Shami, kuldip or Bishnoi, left arm spinner like Abhishek Sharma who can bat or off spinner like Tanush Kotian who bring more with a ball than Parag. Depending on pitch, I may consider someone like Mohsin Khan

Yes, team has tried & tested one dimmensional players in last 7 WC and turned chokers. At present utility should be considered above star value. Abhisekh Sharma is a genuine opening batsman allrounder, fully fits in T20I. One dimmension Gill can't do anything more if he fails with the bat.Rinku has been totally overlooked, he has domestic stats for Odi, but its the IPL glory that gave him selector's attention. Parag can also be there will give more boost to the team then Shreyas Iyer. DLC & Sundar any time but sadly they are highly injury proned. All T20 games to be played in Home should be in slow and sticky wicket to match WI tracks

Axar is a better bowler than Sundar and a faster, perhaps more consistent batter too. We can try the young ones but Sundar should not be preferred to Axar. Also, Gill has performed and should be given chances as should Yashasvi, Tilak Varma, Rinku, who have all performed. Gaikwad has not but he should still be given 1-2 more series to show us he can hit and does not play scared. Try some backup wicketkeeper.

Wrt the bowlers, I agree with you Kumar but we don't really have anyone who is that good it seems. I have almost given up. But, we have to choose the best among the useless ones we have. And, by all means, we need to try to play bowlers who can bat a bit. At least 3 of them. In the meantime, give some bowling to NTTV and Yashasvi.

It is stupid to discriminate against injury-prone players. We need to utilize them to the fullest and platoon. Play DLC. If he gets hurt, he gets hurt. If not, we can get some matches from him. Maybe platoon Hardik and DLC. One gets hurt the other comes in. Etc.

So, I was checking whether Australia are playing their best T20I team or resting.

On the batting side, their top players wrt batting are: Warner, Inglis, Maxwell, Stoinis, Head, David. They are playing three of the top six. The other three are backups.

For their bowling, it would be Marsh, Cummins, Hazlewood. The top spinners would be Agar and Zampa. If the tail seems too long, then perhaps bring in someone like Ashton Turner and platton him with Maxwell and Stoinis. Or else, maybe another batter such as Short.

So, they are indeed playing a very second string bowling lineup + Zampa. That, plus the conditions, explains why our batters are doing a bit better playing their A-team bowlers and our bowlers are struggling a bit against more quality players (Short, Inglis, Stoinis, Maxwell) and flat conditions/small grounds.

Picking injury proned players is a high level of stupidity as it can destroy a settled team at any time in an ICC event. Indian team now understand it very much how Hardik's injury destroyed the combination and will think twice before including an injury proned player.Among bowlers who can bat team can try Mohsin, Raj Bawa, Hang'kr

Australia chose an injured player and made changes. You cannot do half. If you choose injury-prone players, you need to prepare like for like backups. And, you need to have good backup plans. You need to have a backup such as DLC to back up Hardik and do a like for like replacement. Otherwise, of course, plans change.

Can't compare less injured players with full time Citizens of NCA. Travis Head can gurantee a full series, which is impossible for DLC & Sundar

This ton could have come much earlier but selection politics hurt him, Gaikward is far better then overrated Gill. Backing that overrated Prince will hurt India if he gets picked for WC & chokers should be strictly banned from destroying this team. That tiktok failure will be joining the team for last 2 T20I, should be made to warm in the bench
