Very disappointing. I watched the last 2 sets of PG's match, he even had a matchpoint. Too bad he lost from there.

Next week Prajnesh and Mukund have not entered for week 3 of challengers in Thailand. They would have had to play qualies but instead they have entered M25 in next 2 weeks- first week in Doha,Qatar and next week in Al Zahra, Kuwait. They will both be seeds there.

Some of the lower ranked Indians will be playing Indonesia M15 series-for next 2 weeks- Sid Rawat, Nikki Poonacha should be seeds next week, Karan Singh, Rishab Agarwal, Siddharth Vishwakarma should be in main draw .

Wonder when was the last time our guys played in an ATP match... it seems so long ago, even 3 years ago we had 3 of them regulars.

Last week at Pune ATP. :D

If you mean ATP match outside India, RamK qualified in for 2 ATP tournaments last year - Atlanta and Tokyo. So, it is not long ago.

Yuki and Saki are thru to final in Thailand.

At Nothanburi-2 Challenger 75, Thailand

[SF] (1) Yuki Bhambri (IND) /Saketh Myneni (IND) d. (4) Marek Gengel (CZE) /Adam Pavlasek (CZE) 63 76(3)

Next,

[F] (1) Yuki Bhambri (IND) /Saketh Myneni (IND) vs. Christopher Rungkat (INA) / Akira Santilan (JPN)

In the meantime, 20 year old Frenchman Cazaux who beat Prajnesh in 3 close sets saving 3 match points in second round has gone on to reach the singles final upsetting top seed Novak in the SF. So, Prajnesh was really unlucky to meet him in second round.

We keep saying we lost to a hot player. Maybe, by losing a winnable match, we made him HOT..

Good win by Yuki

No. In this case, that player Cazaux had already won a challenger last year in Thailand and reached a final. So, he was already hot as I stated before Prajnesh match. He vindicated it by making it to the final here.

OK, he was hot, but he still had to qualify in this week -- so he clearly wasn't THAT hot :)
And our guy, Prajnesh, had THREE match-points in the second set, but failed to convert. It would have been so much nicer to say that Prajnesh was the hot player this week after he beat the 4th seed in R1...

Good to see Yuki/Saketh make yet another Challenger doubles final.

And Yuki-Saki win the final after a close battle.

At Nothanburi-2 Challenger 75, Thailand

[F] (1) Yuki Bhambri (IND) /Saketh Myneni (IND) d. Christopher Rungkat (INA) / Akira Santilan (JPN) 26 76(7) 14-12

Their sixth challenger title together. Both are their career high in live rankings- Saketh at #74 and Yuki at #90. Getting closer and closer to ATP and grand slam main draws.

Good job winning their sixth Challenger doubles title. Surely time to make the transition to more tournaments on the ATP tour. But first, they will hopefully dominate the home Challengers and pick up another big bundle of points next month. (I don't suppose they will be able to squeeze into the Aus Open main draw...).

This is a good trophy to win and sets them up nicely for the Indian Challengers and hopefully they will dominate them

AO is touch and go but looks difficult as for weeks the list hasn't changed a bit and they seem to be stuck at #3 in the Alt list
