Oh, dear. What a meltdown from 3-1 up in third set. Topsy turvey match where a win could have really taken their doubles career forward and which looked entirely possible.

Can we really say that? There were two sets played after that, and they only won one of those. They could have won the first and lost the next two too, like they lost two breaks after winning the first one in the third set! :) This doesn't seem like a match where one or two points made a huge difference like happens in an STB or something.

That's why I used 'could' instead of 'would' :D

I think the DFs at crucial junctures hurt them the most... and going down from 3-1 to 3-6 in the decider is much more of a collapse than any other time in the entire match...

Yes, losing 5 games at a stretch is what did them in. Otherwise, it was a topsy turvy match with momentum shifting from one side to another.

Rohan and Ebden looked hardly compatable and were totally uncordinated with Rohan yelling his customary "You .. You.." which in turn created more confusion.

With three straight R1 losses quite a forgetful start for the year as this time last year already had earned 2 titles ,plus his fetish for "Foreign Players Only" is only making things more difficult.

And Rohan's conqueror Erler, partnering Arjun Khade had last year won the Bangalore Challenger .

That would be interesting. The only R1 match that hasn't been played yet is of the 5th seeded pair of Dodig/Krajicek. But if Bala/G1 get that ALT spot, it would be good....

Yes, Jeevan and Bala have got in as alternates. They went there despite being 5th or 6th out from the draw and got their reward for sticking around there for almost a week. Very tough match against Dodig and Krajicek but at least they get to play a slam.

Just adding the ranking to the junior match-ups posted by Prashanth.

Girls Singles

[R1] Shruti Ahlawat (IND,84) v. Wakana Sonobe (JPN,64)

Boys Singles

[R1] Manas Dhamne (IND,76) v. (WC) Jeremy Zhang (AUS,106)

[R1] Aryan Shah (IND,44) v. (10) Joao Fonseca (BRA,21)

[R1] Yuvan Nandal (IND,49) v. Alexander Frusina (USA,34)

Except Manas everyone has got a higher ranked player. Hope we get at least a couple of wins.

One of these days Yuvan will get his temperament in check, believe in himself and win some matches. The guy has a very good game.

That’s scary because it sounds like Ramkumar.

My impression is based on one match I saw (in Korea, against Gerard Campana Lee) where Yuvan looked like he had better tools than top-10 junior 18 year old Lee, but took himself out of rhythm arguing line calls and all. I don't know if he is always like that. There were some home calls that Lee was getting but Yuvan seemed ready to be upset at any close call!
