Good call. They win in straight sets.

Excellent upset win by Yuki and Saki. Lammons and Withrow are ranked 31 and 34 now in the ATP rankings. So, this is comfortably the best win ever of their doubles career together.

Yeah, now we are talking. Just when we think they are not getting anywhere, they play a match like this. Quite unpredictable. If they stop making mistakes, they can win against anybody, and that keeps getting demonstrated. Now let us have a run, guys!

Re: Yuki Bhambri/ Saketh Myneni (pair) Thread
Their mistake free ceiling is quite high (at least top 40 ranking for each) but on the other hand they are quite inconsistent in how they play not just match to match but also within matches. They need another win or two to make this count...

They will play Dustin Brown/Adam Pavlasek (first time pairing) in the QF. Much less fancied opponents to fight for a place in the SF of an ATP draw. Go team!

^^ Yeah, but they had lost to the same Dustin Brown and some Sandkaulen guy just last week, remember! Any dust or sand can get in their way anytime

Easy match means they could very easily lose it too! Hopefully, they will play well given that this is a higher stakes match (ATP vs. Challenger). Good luck to them!

Re: Yuki Bhambri/ Saketh Myneni (pair) Thread
Yes, but this Brown did not get in their way as he got injured while trailing 2-5 in first set and retired.
At Munich ATP 250, Germany (Clay)
[QF] Yuki Bhambri (IND) / Saketh Myneni (IND) d. Dustin Brown (JAM) / Adam Pavalsek (CZE) 52 retired
They may run into second seeds Cabal and Farah in the SF, but second seeds have to go thru matches before that as they are yet to play their second round match which is later today and if they win, QF mostly tomorrow.
Yuki at #73 and Saketh at #75 in live rankings now.

Maybe he got dust in his brown eyes and could not dust the brown folks out. So, Dustin Brown is dusted. Or is DustOUT Brown now. Maybe Busted Down. May he recover soon though.

Re: Yuki Bhambri/ Saketh Myneni (pair) Thread
And Halys/Pel are ousted by Austrian pair. So, they will meet Yuki-Saki in SF tomorrow.
At Munich ATP 250, Germany (Clay)
[SF] Yuki Bhambri (IND,79) / Saketh Myneni (IND,80) vs. Alexander Erler (AUT,39) / Lucas Miedler (AUT,40)
The Austrian pair has won an ATP 500 title in Acapulco, Mexico couple of months back. So, this is a very tough match for Yuki-Saki.

Re: Yuki Bhambri/ Saketh Myneni (pair) Thread
Thanks,Vishnu. I had faintly remembered them being beaten by an Indian pairing before but did not check.
So, Yuki-Saki did beat them at Prostejov challenger final last June. In fact subsequent week to that, BalaJee also beat them in Bratislava Challenger SF and again in Parma Challenger in October 2022.
But, since then this Austrian pair has taken big steps forward- won an ATP 500 title in Vienna,Austria in late October and than Acapulco ATP 500 in February this year. Also reached Marrakech ATP 250 final 2 weeks back.
They have taken a jump from rankings in 80's when they lost that Prostejov final to inside top 40 now.

Re: Yuki Bhambri/ Saketh Myneni (pair) Thread
YukiSaki are trying to make the transition to the ATP tour which Erler-Miedler made in the second half of last year after reaching the top of the challenger tour level. Should be a close match which they can win.

Re: Yuki Bhambri/ Saketh Myneni (pair) Thread
Yuki-Saki lost 67(4) 36 in the SF.
I watched first set and Yuki-Saki were the better team in first set. Just could convert couple of bp opportunities which they had. And in tie break it was all even at 4-4 and one great return on Saki serve did it for the Austrian pair.
Did not watch the second set. But it looks like Austrian team dominated the second set.
