That is the best reply one can get from a player. Not the worst. Anyone (Indian) I criticize, I hope they prove me totally wrong.Omkara wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 4:51 amWow. That's the worst reply one can get from a player. Not only she didn't lose, she won when she was down a set. This is amazing. I agree with Jay, if she plays her shots well, she will be a handful to any body.

Re: Sahaja Yamalapalli thread
Looks like it was a mistake. They have now added the R1 match for Wednesday night as the only doubles match today, in the order of play (I am pretty sure it wasn't there last night when I checked).

Re: Sahaja Yamalapalli thread
Sahaja vs Olivia is on at the moment but I’m not watching. I looked at the live scores and it is Sahaja leading 3-0 at the moment, serving for the 4th game in the first set. It’s been one long game with almost 28 points being played so far. Olivia is pretty good, so I will be surprised to see an upset win from Sahaja. I will look at the result later today.

That game went on for 42 points but Sahaja finally held for 4-0 and than broke for 5-0 in first set.

Re: Sahaja Yamalapalli thread
From 5-0 to 5-3 now. Oliva was making tons of errors in early games but now has cut down and playing really well. Can Sahaja somehow sneak in a game to win the set at least ?

Re: Sahaja Yamalapalli thread
After losing the second set 4-6, Sahaja is up 4-1 in third set. Can she keep it up for couple more games ?

Re: Sahaja Yamalapalli thread
Tough loss for Sahaja after leading 4-1 in the final set and then to lose 6 out of the last 7 games. She has a very nice game but way too inconsistent with her services.

Re: Sahaja Yamalapalli thread
All over.
At ITF W100, Landisville, USA (Hard)
[R1] (Q) Sahaja Yamlapalli (IND,425) l. (6) Olivia Gadecki (AUS,140) 63 46 57
Just made a few more errors towards the end but still this must be one of the best matches Sahaja has played and she came so close to pulling off a big upset over a top 150 player.

Re: Sahaja Yamalapalli thread
Sahaja has the game. She just needs to play and play, and play more, to get more consistent. She has a high-risk style, and a lot of the shots are of lower accuracy for that reason. No way to get better than to play a lot. She is pretty clearly playing at a higher level than even a few months before.
