There is lot of brand name that appears to go into MoM awards. Remember when Rohit Sharma got the MoM for that 4 test win in England(2021), but Shardul Thakur was a bigger difference in that match and probably should have gotten MoM. That was the most egregious case when a player was robbed. Sharma scored just 21 more runs than Thakur, but Thakur got three wickets including that of Joe Root. Further without Thakur’s first inning score of 57, that game is a goner.

Could be another india Australia finals on card. Australia chasing around 180. And Pakistan is not making it easy. Could be an interesting chase

Just in awe of the Australian can do spirit. To score ~15 runs with nine wickets down in a semifinal is stuff of folklore. Does anyone else come even close? It’s just the belief that’s drilled into them from the beginning.

Because they have a professional system with a first class setup. Good that they are winning. They deserve it.

By the way, Ali Raza kid is just 15 years old. Do asian kids physically mature faster when compared to westerners?

By the way for all the hype with his batting , Musheer khan failed against 2 of the top three teams (bangladesh and RSA) coming good only against NZ who has not been really good in this tournament. Bowling appears to be good.

West Indies though lost the first T20I against Aussies, but their team set up looks solid, plenty of multidimmensional cricketers, renowned powerhitters at 7/8/9. They could start as favourites

There is rampant age-cheating in Pakistan still.

54/2. We need another 200 @ 6 runs an over. Looking tough from here.

Undefeated until finals and losing to Aussies. What’s new? 115-7 now.

This U19 team did actually well to make the finals considering that they did not do well in Asian games.

May have to pump the brakes on Munsher khan as second coming of Sarfaraz. Failure in 3 of 4 big matches at U19 level does not portend well.

Hyping U-19 stars is stupid. They are more often shown up than not. Not often do we get a Tendulkar or even a Kambli. And, they are hyped to the moon. Let them play.

I think the generational talent have been Pant and then Yashasvi come out of the U-19 teams. Gill was hyped. He is a fantastic white-ball player and perhaps generational in that part of the game. The rest are like Unmukt Chand. Hyped but not that great. There were the Babas. Maybe one of the Babas will still learn to play and get into the main team ... Of course, I am hyping and projecting on Yashasvi because I am very high on him based on my eye-test ... though I try to keep the number of people I hype to be very very low because generational talent is very rare. Of course, I got Sehwag wrong and thought he was not that good. So, what do I know.

Well Gill is a Babar - lots of cheap, white-ball runs.

Big match temperament should be evident by this time. That’s what Aussies have from early ages in most sports. At least this part is real not hype.

Gill’s criticism is somewhat surprising. We wouldn’t have won the last test without his contribution in the second innings. He hasn’t scored much but he has not scored zeroes and single digits repeatedly either.
