When I try to post something, usually a reply, I get a bunch of 403's. Usually, trying a second or third time to submit works. This has been happening the last week or two.

This is great

Whenever I try to post a reply and submit I get timed out and my submission is not accepted. Hopefully this time. My problems have gotten much worse after the upgrade.

When it throws an error, submit it again. Usually, if I write something and then go do something else and then come back and finish the post, the session handle gets stale or whatever and it gives that error. The same post if I submit again right away goes through. Don't know if this will solve your problem but I thought I'd mention that.

Update was made almost three years ago. This can’t be solely related to the update.

I think other things can get you logged out of sports-india without your knowledge while you are typing a reply. Just opening sports-india on another tab could do this (I think). Or maybe it is hitting a back button past the login page (which could be on another tab) that logs you out. I had generally taken it as something to do with my browsing habits. I sometimes find myself logged out even when I have been typing only for a few minutes, which I find out only when I hit submit. But I also find sometimes when I have been typing a reply for a long time but have done nothing else, that it doesn't log me out (unless I leave it unattended for more than an hour or something).

Anyway, just so I wouldn't lose what I typed, I sometimes copy it to a notepad window, and I have made it a habit now. Especially when I type anything more than a few lines and have got distracted and gone to other browser tabs or gone away like Prasen said.

Made a few changes. Hope that makes things more stable (or not)

A few updates:

1. Using Recaptcha(v3) from Google now for anti-spam
2. Upgraded versions of software for the forum and wordpress and a bunch of other stuff
3. Upgraded version of php being used on the server
4. Made some server side tweaks that theoretically should improve speed

Hopefully it all goes as planned and will check in over the next couple of days to ensure I haven't broken stuff.

Wow, Dhruv is here! How are you my Lord Ram? (I had said I was Dhruv's Hanuman long ago, when he started the forum! How perfect that he showed up on Hanuman Jayanti!)

Also, have enabled https and encryption for passwords and such but not sure I have fixed all links etc. so there might be some weird behavior but hopefully password exchanges etc are more secure.

Dhruv, can we replace the front page (where Sunil Yejaman's 20 year old article comes up - which may be making some people who come the first time to think that the site is no longer active) with something else? Thanks for all your work! Jay

That is not bad. Just showing the latest posts would be just fine. Pretty straight forward, actually!

Maybe we should say "The oldest continuously running sports Indian sports forum (since 2000)" or something in the front page?

Dhruv, is there a provision of adding feature to "Like" a post without actually having to reply? Thanks for the improvements

Updated to a new version of PHP and WordPress. Will likely update version of forum and then see if I can also address some requests including the "like" button.

Any other requests I should be aware of?

As always, hopefully I haven't broken anything but if something doesn't work let me know and I can try to fix.
