Some places like Karnataka, Punjab, Delhi etc are getting multiple miniwaves. Though dropping nationally, the numbers aren't on a quick drop in many states. Kerala, Maharashtra, TN and WB have steadily dropped though.

It is great to see that India is holding straight or slightly decreasing whereas Sri lanka and Nepal have gone through the roof with 200-250% increase for Sri Lanka and 135% for Nepal or so in the last week/weeks.

I used to think that Sri Lanka was doing great (relatively speaking) developmentally, etc. but it seems the country has been taken to the cleaners by some corrupt kleptocrats.

Yeah, after all the hype about all those countries who were doing great, in the end, it seems nobody did particularly well. Taiwan, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, this place, that place... In the end everybody got Covid. One crazy country who can shoot people for not listening to what the "ruler" says, decided to make their people suffer for ever from NOT getting Covid, and kept it away for the most part, after creating the virus. Otherwise, everybody did things reasonably well within their capabilities. India, in my opinion, did a little bit better than I thought we were capable of doing. Lots of deaths and absolute mayhem everywhere. It will take a long time for the wounds to heal, but we are slowly moving on from Covid, resigned to live with it and hoping for it to slowly die out in the long term rather than mutate and create more waves.

I still keep updating the numbers. My spreadsheet has now reached 850+ days, after I started putting daily numbers in it in March 2020. I will need to move on too, at some point

The current wave is on a nice downswing in most states, except in the Delhi/UP/HP/HAR/RAJ/PUN belt to the north and northwest. Good to see Gujarat and Odisha joining TN, WB, KER, Telangana etc with notable drops in the wave. Karnataka and maybe J&K also, but let us wait a couple of days more on those two states. I am pretty sure that Bihar, MP, CHG, JH are just not testing and are massively under-reporting the numbers because of that, but I assume the waves have come and gone there too. The other notable (and nearly criminal) under-reporting is in the TN death numbers. They have still shown only less than 10 deaths in this whole wave. Come on, TN. You are better than that!

I don't know what the deal is, with the Puducherry number. The newspapers say there were only 77. I guess they added some reconciliation numbers (an extra 545).
