Re: Manas Dhamne thread
Manas' QF match against Neuchrist is postponed to tomorrow. Rain or something in Monastir today... If he wins the QF, he will have to play two matches tomorrow.

Re: Manas Dhamne thread
Manas into a semifinal!
As they are playing a semifinals also later today, they had a match tiebreaker.
[QF] (Q) Manas Dhamne (IND,1013) d. (5) Maximilian Neuchrist (AUT,589), 67(5) 63 [10-8]
so
[SF] (Q) Manas Dhamne (IND,1013) vs Alberto Barroso Campos (ESP,539)
Alberto also had to come back from a 0-6 first and win it in an MTB in his QF match.

Re: Manas Dhamne thread
By the way, the guy whom Manas beat 62 60 in final qualies, has reached the SF as a lucky loser. Lorenzo Carboni, who also trains at the Piatti academy (and had reached the junior FO final last year, as mentioned above). Carboni beat a highly talented JR exempt player today in the QF -- Maxim Mirva, who is the current junior #3. Maxim was also always ahead of Manas among the vey young players for the last 2 or 3 years, and is currently the #6 hihest ranked u18 player in ATP, at #888. Manas is the 7th highest now. Carboni himself is #15 among all players under the age of 19 in ATP. These are three highly talented players at Monastir this week.

Re: Manas Dhamne thread
Terrific win, and he is in the final!
[SF] (Q) Manas Dhamne (IND,1013) d. (1) Alberto Barroso Campos (ESP,539), 64, 63
Manas (UTR 13.01) took out the UTR 13.49 5th seed and UTR 13.58 top seed today. Wow.
Now he plays the same guy whom he beat in Q3, lucky loser Lorenzo Carboni (UTR 13.46)

Re: Manas Dhamne thread
Awesome pair of wins by Manas! Thankfully, Carboni has also played 7 matches this week, so the final will likely turn on who has the fresher legs!
Btw, Manas is about to finally justify his thread which PKB (who else?) started when he was 11! Apparently he is the youngest thread prince ahead of Yuki who got his thread at 12 and Sumit who got his at 14!

If Manas is playing at close to a UTR 13.50 level based on these results, he would be rated above Ramk (13.40) as the 4th best UTR rated Indian. The slumping Sumit is still tops with a surging DK Suresh (13.57) about to get ahead of Mukund (13.61). I believe Suresh is playing well in college tennis.

Re: Manas Dhamne thread
Excellent couple of wins by Manas today to make it his first pro final.
He is getting close to getting into junior slams with his ATP singles rankigs now. One needs to be in top 750 to directly get into junior grand slam main draws and top 850 to get into qualifying draws. With 22 points now, Manas will be somewhere between 860-870 now in next week's rankings. A win tomorrow will get him to around 780.
With about 3 months still to go before French open junior entry list coming out there is a fair chance that Manas will make it it to main draw there based on his ATP singles rankings.

Re: Manas Dhamne thread
And Manas will jump Yuvan, Chirag, Manish and Niki to move up to #12 in Indian rankings on Monday Feb 17th. If he wins tomorrow, he will jump Adil and DK Suresh also, and move up to the 10th spot in India. But on UTR, he is probably much higher.

Re: Manas Dhamne thread
^^^Manas current UTR prior to this week is 13.03 but will almost certainly move up after this week’s results are accounted for and will probably be right behind Aryan Shah as our 7th or 8th best.
However, his form this week alone was at least at 13.50 level given that he beat 13.46, 13.49, and 13.58. His level this week was good enough to be 4th best among all Indians.

Re: Manas Dhamne thread
Manas win the title.
[F] (Q) Manas Dhamne (IND,1013) d. (LL) Lorenzo Carboni (829) 26 60 61
According to me youngest Indian to win a futures title at 17 years 1 months after Yuki Bhambri.
