Re: Gukesh D - Youngest to Elo 2750- #11 in the world
17 years and 2 months.
Let's wait until the end of the tournament though for the official rankings. Hari also briefly overtook Anand on the live rankings in 2016, though obviously Gukesh will have India's #1 title for a long time.

I think P Harikrishana was also ahead of Anand in live ratings in 2016. Hopefully Gukesh will stay ahead in month end official ratings also. Its high time. More than 25 years!

Re: Gukesh D - Youngest to Elo 2750- #11 in the world
We will see if he can dominate like Magnus. Magnus came when there was sort of a void, i.e., Anand was about done and the Russian pipeline was gone. Now Magnus is there and will be there perhaps a decade or more. So, it will not be easy. Also, to get to #1, you have to get wins against the top player. I hope he gets the chance to defeat Carlsen and get there soon. The other three Indians I hope also join the fray and we have a fantastic crop of young players each vying to top the other and reaching greater and greater heights. One can dream. But, in chess, our dreams are closer to becoming true.

Oh, they’re still making these Hitler videos? These are a hoot and a gold mine for comedy. The creativity in taking almost any situation and dub it within the same scene is Oscar worthy.HockeywithBilli wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 3:49 pm Stop everything and watch this:

Here’s another chess one.

Frankly, these aren’t that good. Watch other ones. You’ll laugh like you’ve never laughed before.
