Looks like we might see a repeat of Pranjala vs Conny in the finals.

It's been raining in Lagos and the start time has been pushed to 2pm now. Unlike Hombre, I shall be optimistic and hope for a Riya-Pranjala final.

Re: $25K Nigeria Men's & Women's ITF Sep/Oct 2018
Conny’s W-L record in the finals of Lagos for past few years follow this trend:
2015 ($25k) : (3)Conny Perrin (SUI) d. (4)Tadeja Majeric (SLO) 36 64 76(6)
2016 ($25k) : (2)Tadeja Majeric (SLO) d. (3)Conny Perrin (SUI) 36 61 61
2016 ($25k) : (3)Conny Perrin (SUI) d. (2)Tadeja Majeric (SLO) 63 63
2017 ($25k) : (4)Deniz Khazaniuk (ISR) d. (1)Conny Perrin (SUI) 46 61 63
2017 ($25k) : (1)Conny Perrin (SUI) d. (4)Deniz Khazaniuk (ISR) 76(11) 63
She loses first week and captures the second week title, so if one goes with the trend, Conny might turn the tables on Pranjala this time, if both progress to the F.
Although it’s annoying that such a talented Top-200 player has been vulturing some cheap points at a week $25K tournament year after year.

Just to speak for Conny though: She has a personal bonding with Nigeria and this event, that she has developed over few years - I remember reading about it in the local dailies in one of her interviews before. Ofcourse it gives the added benefit of easy points.
One could say the same thing if a top-5 player plays a ATP 250 too I guess.

Any idea when was the last time we had two Indian girls playing a $25k final either in India or outside? Can't recall of anything recent.

I do not think this has ever happened ( 2 girls in a 25K womens final) because there are very few Indians who have won a 25K title.
Both the semi finals are on right now.
True to her form here, Pranjala has breezed thru the first set 6-2. Riya is also putting up a good account of herself against Conny leading 4-3 on serve in first set.

Pranjala completes a comprehensive win.
[SF] (6) Pranjala Yadlapalli (IND,449) d. (8) Julia TERZIYSKA (BUL,421) 62 63
Apart from last week's final against Conny , Pranjala has not dropped a set here in 2 weeks.
Hope Riya can join her in the final. 1-2 on serve in the second set now after winning the first set.

Damn, it is a bad miss by Riya. We were so close to an all Indian final . Let's see if Riya has it in her to come back and win the third set now.

Wonderful to see Pranjala’s terrific run continuing into a second week. And fine effort by Riya so far: let’s hope she comes back stronger after the break.

Sad loss for Riya. Pranjala wins the first set 6-1 against Perrin in the finals. She saved a couple of break points while serving at 4-5 and is now tied at 5-all.
Pranjala breaks Perrin to serve for the title 6-5. And she gets broken to love.
Match goes to TB to decide the 2nd set.
Phew! Pranjala wins the tie-breaker and defeats Perrin for the 2nd straight week.
F (6) Pranjala Yadlapalli (IND,449) 6-1 7-6 (1) Conny Perrin (SUI, 142)
Title #3 will take her to a career-high top-320 ranking

No. She will be close to 280 after this title. Another superb run by her.
Sania had won back to back 25K titles in Lagos in 2004 after which her career started taking off. Hope the same happens with Pranjala.
