^^Because we unintentionally misspell foreign words. It’s Morelos Open, not Moreloss. It is held in Cuernavaca, Mexico.

Of course, you knew that Jay, right? It’s like Columbia for Colombia. Of course, there isn’t a country named Columbia.

Columbia is a good one. I wonder how we get stuck with these misspellings.

This is from the fact that we call the mass murderer Christopher Columbus, who was of Italian origin. The Italian spelling is Columbus. But, the Spanish spelling is Colombo. Guy went on voyages that were sponsored by Spain. Hence, Colombia. The guys there speak Spanish in that beautiful land. Not English or Italian. In English we use the term Columbian interchange/exchange for the exchange of plants, diseases, etc. between the so-called new world and the old guard. Same scoundrel, different names.

Oh yes. I have actually been at the beautiful town of Cuernavaca. Actually went there as the singer for a South Indian classical dance program, back in 1999.

Well, it went like Sameer predicted... More Loss.. Niki Poonacha (IND,743) lost the Q1 today at the M75 Cuernavaca (MEX) Challenger to 3rd seed Matias Soto (CHI,422), 26 46.
