For the record, we did get one more bronze, as discussed in the hockey thread. Whoopdeedoo, we beat the bug country by a big big margin of 2-1

Is Kazakhstan done? Are we sure of finishing at the 8th spot?

By the way, two 19 year old girls (Pincky Balhara and Malaprabha Jhadav) in the unheard-of wishu contingent who had to get their villagers' help to pay for the kits to represent India, got us the same medals as did all the highfalutin professionals in the kabaddi contingent, hockey contingent and badminton contingent --- 1 silver and 1 bronze. All the big names who make so much more money and still got paid more money by India for Asiad preparation, who went and laid eggs there, should be ashamed of themselves.

And why was Rani Rampal made the flag bearer in the closing ceremony instead of Amit?
Have all the gold medalist from Athletics or Bridge also left?

Yes, only 1 triathlon event left tomorrow and Kazakhstan is not entered there.

So, we are confirmed 8th, same place as last Asiad.Great that we got out our expected 15 golds in spite of missing the 4 seemingly sure golds from hockey and Kabaddi.

In only olympic sports, we would be much higher. I will update that list only for Olympic medals tomorrow after the 1 remaining event is done.

So, he's only about a handful of years older than you Jay. Seems like some guy who likes "tash" and "adda" as Koustav said. But how do you know he is not on the internet and does not use whatsapp? Bridge is very intoxicating. Once we started to play a few hands and by the time we stopped it was 3 or 4am in the morning as a student. So, these guys are doing well getting a gold out of having fun

All the biggie athletes like Neeraj Chopra, Himadas etc are already back in India as they have to prepare for the intercontinental cup next week.

Neeraj Chopra is in Zürich btw. He was here for the IAAF Zürich Diamond League. He is heading to Czech tomorrow.

Just hoping that he wouldn't know of whatsapp and internet, so that he wouldn't realize that there were people dying to see him win a Gold. Knowing that seems to play havoc in our players' minds!

I know. I was trying to have a dig at your age It's possible he knows but does not care to follow whatsapp or internet newspapers, etc. except maybe good old Anandabazar
