Re: Arjun Kadhe thread

Post by sameerph »

Arjun started his European stint this week in doubles but lost in a close one in first round.

At Oeiras 1 Challenger, Portugal (Clay)

[R1] (3) Arjun Kadhe (IND) / Marco Bortolotti (ITA) l. Sanjar Fayziev (UZB) / Markos Kalovelonis (GRE) 64 57 7-10

This really is a match that Arjun and his partner should have won against much lower ranked opponents. I think it is not easy in doubles to pait with a new partner and start winning straighawy even when both players individually are quite good.

Except, Arjun and Marco are not first-time partners and already have a title to their names winning the Forli challenger earlier this year.

Arjun is now ranked 170 in doubles (getting close to his career-high of 160) and 546 in singles (some way away from his career high of 328 (from August 2018).
He is partnering the same Spaniard as last week at the Rome Challenger this week, and they play an all-Turkish pair in R1.

Arjun is at his career best ranking of 146 right now but needs to find a regular partner to take it forward. He has been changing partners every 2-3 weeks this year.

He will continue with same partner next week. Arjun has played with 15 different partners this year. He is at a career high ranking of 135 currently but needs to find a steady partner to move up further.

Any idea where Arjun is? After the final at the Istanbul challenger last month with Robolli (which took him to his career high doubles ranking of #133), he had an R1 loss in a Romania challenger, and has gone about 5 weeks without playing. He can play in any challenger with his current ranking of #142. Is he injured or something? It was quite impressive that he went up that high without a regular partner. he played with some 6 or 7 different guys over the last year with good success. I am curious what is up with Arjun...

^^ Arjun played in national games. But, that is some break for him.

He is entered in singes qualies and in doubles with RamK for Japan challenger next week.
