Is this $115 or $125K?
Also, read in TF that Zvonareva withdrew and was awarded a WC at the Hawaii WTA 125.
Main draw WCs go to Ankita, KKT, Rutuja and Zeel Desai.
Pranjala will have to qualify here but assuming it would be a weaker Q list.

More from TF:
Paolini, Schmiedlova, Zvonareva and Krejsova withdrew.
Personally, I think it’s a good opportunity for some of our players to grab this big tournament for ranking points and money but if the organizers fail to attract bigger players, it’s never growing anywhere.

It is mentioned as part of 125K series but WTA mentions the prize money as 115K from where I updated.

Kind of feel bad for Pranjala - she never seems to get any limelight even though many would put her in the top-2 or 3 prospects. Hope she gradually lets her record speak for herself

Yeah, it is quite sad that Pranjala did not get a WC. She deserves one...

Yes, I agree with all 3 WC choices except Zeel as she is not a local player either and I’m sure she was not awarded the MDWC just with last week’s good results at Pune?

QD is our. Unfortunate of Pranjala that she drew against top seed WC Ana Bogdan that’s ranked 111 in the world. Riya, Nidhi and Natasha made it to the draw too.
Can only think of Riya having an outside chance to upset Alize Lim.

The treatment of Pranjala demonstrates the idiocy of our pathetically parochial and small-minded sports Administrators and organisers. Hosting a tournament like this is a waste if it doesn’t provide an opening for our most promising players.

Hard to disagree. But they all get away with it, and nobody will raise a question, except us here. Sad.

To add onto Jay's point about attention to detail in Challenger thread, the Mumbai Open website is down now. They appear to have hit the quota limits
