Excellent win by Saina against former wold champion Ratchanok Intanon. I was just getting worried about her future after last week and then she pulls out this big win. She is 7-0 against her next opponent Jindapol while Sindhu is 3-0 against her next opponent Beiwen Zhang. Hopefully, both will continue their domination.

2 massive upsets- Srikanth beats Jorgensen and Prannoy beats the great Lee Chong Wei. Good chance for Srikanth to reach the final though Prannoy faces Chen Long next. Good to see Prannoy back. I regarded him as the next biggest men's hope after Srikanth but in recent times, Sai Praneeth and Sameer Verma seemed to have moved ahead.

And Saina lost.

Yes, I too have considered Prannoy as potential top 10 player at least but so far he has been very inconsistent - brilliant at times and mediocre at others. Hopefully, with this big win he will get everything together to mount a change towards top 10.

Sindhu also lost. So mixed day for us ... As after two great upset wins by our men, we had two disappointing losses of our women players.
More disappointing was, before these matches, Saina and Sindhu had a winning record against their respective opponents.

Wonderful run of performances by the Indian men. Prannoy's successive victories over Lee Chong-wei and Chen Long were simply outstanding. I hope he can sustain that form in the SF, and Srikanth too wins so that we can have an all-Indian final.
