Her semi-final match has begun. And she's up 4-2 against the 2nd seed!

Zeel lost 5-7 5-7. Good match against a talented player. Here's to a great season for her next year. Hope she does plan to play the second week.

Both Zeel and Karman lost by the same scoreline against the top 400 player. It indicates that both are playing around similar level right now. That would be somewhere around 400-500 and that is where their ranking would be when they play full year on pro tour. Hopefully, they will improve next year to the top 350 level to start with.

Wild cards for next week's 25K at Pune have gone to Karman, Natasha Palha, Dhruti Venugopal and Rutuja Bhosale.

Good to see Rutuja back to playing on ITF circuit after a long time during her winter break from college.

Very good upset win by 15 year old Mahek Jain against an experienced Serbian who has done well in recent weeks.

1 Indian qualifier guaranteed in winner between Nidhi-Ramya. Hope at least 1-2 among Eetee, Kanika and Mahek can upset their higher ranked opponents.

Natasha gets a good win over the Singapore player.

[R1] (WC) Natasha PALHA (IND,758) d. (Q) Stefanie TAN (SGP,465) 76(2) 63

Nidhi won the first set 76(3) against the much higher ranked Korean but just lost the second set 57. It goes into a deciding third set.

Nidhi won the last set 6-4. Probably her best win of the career, I suppose?. She went to a tennis academy in Spain which seems to be helping. Good job

Ankita got upset in the first round and Dhruti too lost her match in straight sets.

[R1] (7) Ankita RAINA (IND,271) l. Katy DUNNE (GBR,316) 36 62 26

[R1] (WC) Dhruthi TATACHAR VENUGOPAL (IND,577) l. Ana VESELINOVIC (MNE,415) 57 16

Ankita had beaten the same player in 2014 Pune challenger final.

Rutuja is currently tied 4-4 in first set in her match and Karman still to play. After a good start yesterday, it is turning out to be a bad day today. Can Rutuja and/or Karman salvage something for us ?

Surprising loss of Ankita, as previously she had good results in Pune tournaments.

Yes, excellent upset win by Karman over a top 300 player. I think is her career best win so far.

Rutuja lost her match.

[R1] (WC) Karman Kaur THANDI (IND,582) d. (8) Valeriya STRAKHOVA (UKR,275) 26 62 64

[R1] (WC) Rutuja BHOSALE (IND,NR) l. (Q) Anastasia PRIBYLOVA (RUS,481) 57 57

So, 3 Indians left in second round.

Next,

[R2] (Q) Nidhi CHILUMULA (IND,852) vs. (1) Conny PERRIN (SUI,181)

[R2] (WC) Natasha PALHA (IND,758) vs. Polina MONOVA (RUS,341)

[R2] (WC) Karman Kaur THANDI (IND,582) vs. Anastasia GASANOVA (RUS,387)
