Re: Sania Mirza Tournaments - 2015
So expected easy win for Sania and Martina ... This is Sania and Martina's 6th title of 2015 as a pair ... They've now won six of 13 events they've played since joining forces in March - Indian Wells, Miami, Charleston, Wimbledon, the US Open and now Guangzhou.
Nice photo on Sania's twitter account.

The draw is out for the year-end WTA Finals in Singapore.
SanTina are top seeds and are in Red Group along with seeds- 4, 6 and 7.
I feel a new thread will do.

Re: Sania Mirza Tournaments - 2015
In winning the WTA Finals doubles title (ie, the world doubles championship) for the second consecutive year (albeit with a different partner), Sania has just completed the best year any Indian tennis player has ever had. She won two Slam Doubles titles -- at the two big Slams, Wimbledon and the US Open, apart from retaining the WTA Finals title (in her second consecutive unbeaten run). That is quite simply the greatest year that any Indian tennis player has ever had (man or woman) -- and deserves a huge salute from us all! Only one other Indian has won the world doubles title at all (Vijay Amritraj in 1977), and for Sania to have done it twice in succession, and with such consummate ease, is an eye-popping achievement.
(The next best year for an Indian tennis player would be Leander's 1999, when he won the French and Wimbledon doubles titles, as well as the Wimbledon MxD title and was runner-up at the year-end world doubles championship).
So Sania now has 3 Mixed Doubles Slam titles, 2 Slam Women's Doubles titles, and 2 WTA Finals doubles titles. Quite a spectacular world-trophy cabinet!

Re: Sania Mirza Tournaments - 2015
We've got a really nice pool of talented girls coming along, all of them between age 14 and 17, Karman, Pranjala, Mahak, Snehal, Sabhyata, Akanksha, Zeel, to name a few. This can mostly be attributed to Sania's singles success in 2005-2009, which created a lot of hype about tennis and triggered parents put their children into tennis. Hope Yuki can do the same on the Men's side now.

Re: Sania Mirza Tournaments - 2015
Sania made over $1.5 Million, Hingis made over $1.75 Mil.
Both in top 20 money earners in 2015, overtaking many singles players. In fact the only doubles player in top 50.
Quite phenomenal achievement.
