This was more like it. I think we were way more clinical in the opposition D today. Previously there were too many silly errors and we wouldn't get a shot on goal or a PC. Our PCs are still crappy. Anyway, the best 2 teams will meet in the final. Pakistan have looked pretty good here. However, the PHF is amazingly inept and most of this talent will be wasted. I think they are even worse than us in ;) this respect.

I respect ssp immensely. But, this will perhaps be a candidate for the HOF? ;-)

Pakistan qualified. And, then India defeated them. So, wrong on both counts. :-)

Another reminder that math does not work in sports and teams play differently on different days.

I was wrong about Malaysia and South Korea being superior than Pakistan, who were way better than I expected.

We were very good in Q1 and Q2 but a bit lucky to hold on for the win. Q4 was hectic. We made lots of silly mistakes when just keeping possession and breaking Pakistan's momentum was required.

Very happy to win this tournament. Some exciting players on both sides. Pakistan should be very pleased with their performance despite very little preparation.

ssp....Did you watch semis in asia women juniors?
India beat Japan 1-0 and Korea beats China 2-0. It seems to me that Korean team is more athletic than any other team in the tournament. India struggled against Korea in league stage but managed to draw 2-2. By the way, the good thing is that we qualified for junior world cup to be held in Chile.

India defeats Korea by 2-1 to win the title.
Q1: First quarter is almost equal with Korea getting 2 pc and India 1, none converting any pc. (Though Korea seems slightly more attacking)
Q2: Korea dominates 2nd quarter. Their athleticism was more than India and they got 5 pc but converts none. India got 1 pc and convert it via ps (they got while playing pc). Korea did one field goal.
Q3: It was again Korea all over the field. They got four pc but converts none. India got 2 pc and coverts one taking lead of 2-1.
Q4: Kind of equal game in 4th quarter. No pc and ps in this quarter.
Korea was more dominant in Field. They got let down by their pc specialist. India somehow survives repetitive Korean offense. India was more clinical at pc and it was the thing which made all the difference.

Korea were a bit better than us throughout. They missed a couple of really easy chances and their PCs were poor. We fought hard and took our chances and I'll take that any day. It was a good game overall. I thought we played better v Japan, but they didn't look as fit and fast as the Koreans.

Our tackling was awful. Nothing new there, as all Indian teams specialize in this aspect. Needless hacks to give away PCs and pick up cards. Quite often we got dispossessed because our players tend to be too upright and keep their sticks just a bit too far from the ball. On the positive side, we looked good when we passed quickly through midfield and Deepika looks a really promising player.
