That's the difference between Shiv Kapur & Anirban Lahiri. Anirban goes for it & Kapur doesn't( if I'm not wrong). Kapur created so many good chances over the years but everytime he falters on the final day and so he is yet to win on the european tour.

Birdie chance, not giving enough power behind the shot! restricts himself, afraid, lack of confidence, just look at the 17th, you gotta go for it, show courage...blah blah blah...

Anirban is 27, and has won 6 titles on the Asian Tour -- including this one co-sanctioned by the EPGA.
Shiv Kapur is 32, and has just a solitary title on the Asian tour (and none on the EPGA or other tours).

So, that does suggest that Anirban is much the more talented. He is also "making it" at a younger age, so maybe he can go on to be our first major contender.

Arjun and Shiv went to US colleges, but Anirban is a pure product of the Indian pro tour -- having won 9 titles on the PGTI. I wonder whether he will be able to make the transition to the (US) PGA. He has finished just one major -- finishing 31st in The (British) Open championship in 2012.

I suspect Anirban may be the youngest Indian to win EPGA. I remember listening to him somewhere after his first win in APGA. While comparing himself with Gagajeet Bhullar, he said that Bhullar took an elevator to rise up while he was using stairs. They were both talented duo coming up together when suddenly Gaganjeet started winning on APGA and got ahead. Now Lahiri not only caught up, but has taken much steeper trajectory to climb much higher. I hope this will motivate Gaganjeet too as he continues to make a comeback after a prolonged injury.

I hope Lahiri(27), Gaganjeet(25), and Rashid Khan(24) will form a triplet just like we had Jeev, Arjun, and Jyoti earlier in their prime. Not discounting the later three yet as they have have the capability to show occasional flashes, but no doubt the future belongs to the new generation.

Jeev's accomplishments of winning the year end European Tour championships and leading a major (after Round 1) will still take some beating.

We have to keep in mind that the Asian tour gives away a lot more WR points compared to when Jeev, Arjun and Jyoti were in their prime.

I'm sure SSP really loves playing in Delhi. After winning EMAAR-MGF Indian Masters in 2008, and AVANTHA Masters in 2011, he is eyeing another European tour title, and once again it is in New Delhi. He is two clear of Bangladeshi Siddikur Rahman (-10) and 5 clear of sole 3rd placed Australian Marcus Fraser. In three days so far, after scoring 13 birdies overall, he scored his first bogey on the 17th hole yesterday. If he can be bogey free today, he surely will put himself in prime position to lift the title. :goodluck:
Great to see Lahiri bounce back in the second round of -6. However, the third round was only one under. I wish him another good round. Go Lahiri!
