Re: Karman Kaur Thandi
Was puzzled by this post of forum tough guy "Sin Hombre" as I read that Karman lost in the final round of qualies. Then, went to the previous page and saw that she made it in as a lucky loser and beat a top 400. Way to go Karman.Sin Hombre wrote:very nicely done Kamran.

Re: Karman Kaur Thandi
I was also puzzled by that first post by Sinhombre and thought it to be a sarcastic one aimed at Karman as as I knew that she lost yesterday.
Never expected her to come back as lucky loser and play another match on the same day and win that against a top 400 player. It shows her physical and mental fitness that she could come back within few hours after playing an almost 3 hour long match (and losing it which would have been heartbreaking) to win another one against a much higher ranked player.
Her decision to stay on in Canada and play these high level challenger events instead of coming to India for the ongoing 10K tournaments now stands fully vindicated. She now has 11 points from this week which will double her points tally from 11 to 22 and take her new career high of around 725-730. Of course, she has her points only from 7 tournaments. So, she should go much higher once she completes her full compliment.
Go Karman.

Re: Karman Kaur Thandi
Wow, Karman should now be called a 'Really Lucky Loser' - I've never heard of the same player getting it two weeks in a row, especially since they no longer go by the rankings but just have a lucky draw
And am I glad she made full use of it. That Whoriskey is a tough one.
Tatjana Malek is rather inconsistent - she sometimes plays well above her ranking and sometimes well below it, so don't be surprised to see Karman push her! Also, Malek is not physically imposing.

In any case, prasen deserves the title of forum tough guy more than I do especially when it comes to Rahane. I am the forum pessimist.

Gautam, I am not sure. Anyone can take up any name. And, I do not know much Spanish but Sin Hombre literally means "not man" or maybe "no man". Hence. Got to ask my wife.
If you search old posts, I had actually argued why Rahane should be in the team when he was made to sit for two years. I can actually make an argument why Rahane should still be in the team. He is young and can bat in tests overseas. If someone can teach him to bat in ODIs that would be fine. I did the opposite flip wrt Rayudu. I thought he would be a failure, but, given his success in the chances he got, I think he deserves more. I do not like or dislike anyone personally even if it comes off as that. You perform, you are in. You do not, you should be out.

Re: Karman Kaur Thandi
Ha. I thought it meant "without a man" (just checked again with google translate). Based on that translation, we cannot still conclude whether he is a man or woman. Not that there is anything wrong with it...if you know what I meanprasen9 wrote:Gautam, I am not sure. Anyone can take up any name. That can happen. Well, the moderator should delete these or move them to "General Chitchat"Omkara wrote:What if Kamran accidentally decides to read what people write here?
