A tie-break after playing out 12 games is fair enough, but a tie-break as a set itself makes it more of a luck & nerves thing...

Odd number of sets is best.... With tie break to decide a set if it goes to 6-6

Doubles has become a crap-shoot not only because of the STB, but also because of the short deuces. I think after one deuce, there is a deciding point (and the receiving pair gets to decide who will receive that serve). In some of the Slams (certainly Wimbledon), normal rules are restored -- and the better pairs naturally do better. The shortened games and matches are really a toss-up, especially the STB.

Yes, good run by Sania/ Cara here. Sania had also reached final here last year along with Bethanie Mattek. So, she has defended her points here. Now, lets see if she can go one better . Tough final against a pair who is leading the doubles race this year.

At $710K Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, Stuttgart, Germany (WTA Premier) (Red clay)

[F] (2) Sania Mirza (IND)/ Cara Black (ZIM) vs. (1) Sara Errani (ITA)/ Roberta Vinci (ITA)

Match after the singles final not before 4 pm local time.

So, the highlights so far this year have been the QF at the Aus Open (where they were the only pair to come close to beating Errani/Vinci, the eventual champs), final at Indian Wells, SF at Miami, and now final at Stuttgart. Time to break the top-seeds' psychological hold, and take the final here!

Sania/Cara are also 7th on the "Road to Singapore" where the WTA finals will be this year. I'm reasonably sure they'll qualify for Singapore.

Cara/Sania was steamrolled 6-2 6-3. A shocking scoreline.

I thought Sania/Cara had no chance against the top-seeds who have been the best doubles pair for the past couple of years. Good to see Sania/Cara run into form as we head towards the French Open.
