I wonder what Anirban's tax domicile is. If it is India, he will pay around 37.5% of that US$2.5 million to the government, but he will probably have to pay more in the US or most European countries.

The top federal income tax rate in the US is 37 % plus state income tax which is zero in 7 states including Florida where many golfers live. However, the states where the tournaments are played may levy state and local taxes on in income earned by playing within the state.

Anirban relocated to Dubai before joining LIV Tour. Source: https://gulfnews.com/sport/golf-in-uae/ ... 1.91042906

I believe Dubai has no personal income tax. Additionally just 3 hours to visit his family in Hyderabad and Pune - which is important with ageing parents.

Well done Anirban
Anirban was leading for most of the day and ended T2 with an unfortunate bogey on the last hole with a 3 putt.
He has fished 2nd a few times now but the win has eluded Anirban.
Bryson started the day 8 behind the leader but still won by 1!!!
Great result for Anirban but an opportunity lost for recording a win. Last event in Jeddah in mid October before the finale team finals a week later.

Anirban is having a strong second year on LIV golf with around $10 MM this year (versus under $5MM last year). Based on earnings, he is 7th in this years LIV golf list.

LIV GOLF TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS, MIAMI

Anirban Lahiri’s team CRUSHERS won the season’s finale event.
Anirban had the best round of 7 under par 65 and captain DeChambeau had a 5 under round and team finished 11 under to win by 2 shots.
It was a bogey free round from Anirban at the difficult Blue Monster course at the Trump National Doral Golf club - one of the longest and toughest courses around. :notworthy:
Good too see Anirban having the best round to help the team win the Championship.
Hope he can get to play few events on Asian tour to pick up some world ranking points with his good form.

Not sure how long LIV golf will last but Anirban has seemingly made lifetime earnings in 2023. It looks like he's made nearly $16MM in 2023 between his individual and his share of team earnings!

Yes, it’s lots of money for a Tour with just 14 events.
Also, not sure why they have 3 round events instead of the usual 4 rounds.
So, it’s 42 playing days - 41 for top 4 teams as they are exempt from playing Friday in Team championship event. It’s 38 playing days for Anirban as he skipped one event.

Arjun - I think Anirban made close to $10 million in 2023 per link shared by you including Team winnings. In last week Team event, although Crushers won 14 million, the players get 10% share each i.e. $1.4M for Anirban. 60% of the prize money goes to the team - must be to pay the staff, caddies, business expenses, admin etc.

The guy finishing top, Talor Gooch made $36 Million :kookoo:
