Prarthana/Jessy comfortably takes the first set 6-1.

At the W100 ITF Charleston, South Carolina (Har-Tru clay)

R1 Jessy Rompies/Prarthana Thombare 6-1 6-3 Nao Hibino/Carol Zhao

QF will be a tough one against either the 2nd seeded American pair Santamaria/Christian or unseeded American duo of Brengle/Mateas.

Prarthana and Jessy upset the 2nd seeds to move to SF at Charleston. I watch the match and they seemed pretty out of sync in the first set but regrouped after that.

At W100 ITF Charleston, South Carolina (Har-Tru clay)

QF Jessy Rompies (INA,157) /Prarthana Thombare (IND,181) 2-6 6-2 11-9 (2) Kaitlyn Christian (USA,78) / Sabrina Santamaria (USA,82)

Ranking wise, I think this is the best win for PGT. Moved to #166 in the live rankings now.

They were leading 3-1 in the second set. A bad miss from being in the driver’s seat. Better luck next week!

PGT and Jessy reached the semifinals this week at the W60 Charlottesville ITF.

Next week, they will be at the WTA 125 St Malo in France. There will be a few more similar tournaments the following weeks, which I assume this pairing would feature in. Happy to see this partnership growing. Here’s to better results and some trophies this year :goodluck:

PGT withdrew from the WTA125 event in France and decided to stay in the US. Good decision by her since traveling to another continent and switching from Har-Tru to red clay might not have produced fruitful results.

At the W100 Bonita Springs ITF, Florida (Har-Tru)

R1 Prarthana G Thombare/ Yuriko Lily Miyazaki (GBR) 6-3 6-1 Maria Mateas (USA)/ Robin Anderson (USA)

Up next, they play the strong pair of Ashlyn Krueger / Robin Montgomery to whom PGT/Jessy lost in the SF round couple weeks ago. Revenge time!

PGT is playing with Russian Tikhonova this week and the pair seeded 2nd has reached the finals at the W60 Barcelona.

Will she get her second title of the year?

[QF] (1) Valentini GRAMMATIKOPOULOU (GRE)/ Prarthana G THOMBARE (IND) d. Anna ROGERS (USA)/ Olivia TJANDRAMULIA (AUS) 75 62

[SF] (1) Valentini GRAMMATIKOPOULOU (GRE)/ Prarthana G THOMBARE (IND) d. (4) Estelle CASCINO (FRA)[/ Carole MONNET (FRA)[ 64 75

[F] (1) Valentini GRAMMATIKOPOULOU (GRE)/ Prarthana G THOMBARE (IND) d. (2) Veronika ERJAVEC (SLO)[2]/ Justina MIKULSKYTE (LTU) 64 61

With that Prarthana will move up to a ranking of 153, I think her highest ranking since 4-5 years.
