Pranjala started back on pro tour with couple of impressive wins.

At W25 Redding, CA, USA

[R1] Pranjala Yadlapalli (IND,901) d. Marcedes Aristegui (ESP,1214) 62 60

[R2] Pranjala Yadlapalli (IND,901) d. Maria Kozyreva (RUS,910) 61 63

Kozyreva upset top 100 player Zhang last week. So, the scoreline with which Pranjala beat her is really impressive.

[QF] Pranjala Yadalpalli (IND,901) vs. (3) Katie Swan (GBR,267)

Katie Swan would be tough, saw her (Katie)play some exciting qualifying matches and subsequently advanced to the Wimbledon MD.
It would be terrific upset if our girl can overcome her.

Yes Kozyreva had beaten Zheng Saisai (CHN, 89; career-high 34) in R1 last week, after qualifying in. This week, she beat Katherine Sebov (CAN, 331; CH 192) in R1 before losing to Pranjala in R2. (Kozyreva also lost in R2 last week, but that was in a closer match to Emma Navarro (USA, 282) 75 63).

Before her injury- and Covid-enforced breaks, Pranjala made the final of a W25 in Andijan (Uzbekistan) in April 2019 -- and won two consecutive W25s in Nigeria in October 2018 (three years ago). And all that took her to her career high ranking of 265 in May 2019. So she is perfectly capable of doing very well at this level if she is in form.

Good match, but no cigar (or cinnamon stick, assuming Pranjala doesn't smoke) :(

At W25 Redding, CA, USA

[QF] Pranjala Yadlapalli (IND,901) l. (3) Katie Swan (GBR,267), 46 67(4)

Pranjala was playing well in the UTR tournaments that she played in Australia. Looks like she is in good shape.

Pranjala is playing in a $15K ITF this week in Norman, Oklahoma. Smart move from her to save the SR ranking considering she couldn’t have entered into any other higher level ITF in the US this week. She will most probably be seeded 4th and I hope she goes the distance here. :goodluck:

Yes, she needs to rebuild the points total, but it would be good to mix W15 with W25 tournaments, especially since she has shown she's capable of doing well in the latter on current form.

Just to update she lost in second round there.

This week she played 25K in Austin, Texas but lost in first round.

At W25 Austin, Texas

[R1] Pranjala Yadlapalli (IND,774) l. Kayala Day (USA,418) 36 26

It is a tough road back up the rankings for Pranjala.

Watching Yamalapalli’s match reminded me of the once hopeful Yadlapalli. Whatever is going on with her? :-~

^^^ Good question. If she gets back to form that took her to top-275 when she was just about 20, she would easily be up there with Ankita and Karman. She hasn't played since march though. I wonder if the back that she had surgery on earlier started acting up again? She was fine early December last year when she started a comeback after surgery and pandemic disruptions with the W15 win at Bengaluru... but she hasn't played a whole lot this year. Wonder what's up.
