Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012
Wimbledon starts on Monday June 25th, with qualifying starting a week earlier (on June 18th) at Roehampton. Yuki Bhambri will be the only Indian seeking to play singles at this year's Wimbledon -- through the qualifying rounds. News about Somdev DevVarman is scarce, but I assume he is not going to use his injury-protected ranking to get into the singles main draw.
In Men's Doubles, we have Leander Paes-? (some unknown partner), Mahesh Bhupathi-Rohan Bopanna -- and possibly some pairs featuring the likes of Divij Sharan, Purav Raja and possibly also Yuki and Vishnu Vardhan. Perhaps Yuki and Divij can seek a wildcard into the qualifying on the strength of their Busan Challenger title.
In Mixed Doubles, we will have Bhupathi-Sania, Leander-Vesnina and Bopanna-? to cheer for.
In Women's Doubles, the most likely pairing is Sania-MattekSands.

Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012
The MS Q draw will be out on Sunday evening after 6 PM, while the MD Q draw will be out around 4 PM...
Will have to wait & see if Divij and Purav will get entries whomever they pair with. The WCs have all been given out and announced already; So, there's no chance of a WC for Divij/Yuki into MD-Q...
With Stepanek's improvement in the doubles ranking through this year, his pairing with Leander will probably get them a seeding of 4...
This is also due to the fact that a lot of players would be pairing with their countrymen with Wimbledon in mind...

Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012
The singles entry list for the men's qualifying has gone down to 254 (Farrukh Dustov). Tommy Haas (GER, 117) beat Roger Federer in the final at Halle today (the first time he has beaten him in 10 attempts) -- thus justifying the main draw wildcard he received for Wimbledon.
Lleyton Hewitt is ranked 176, and also received a main draw wild card. He always seems to do OK in the Slams, so it is bemusing to find him ranked that low.

Winning one round of qualifying is worth 8 ATP points, two rounds 16, and qualifying in gets you 25 points + 10 for playing R1 of the main draw! Lots at stake here...

Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012
Yuki Bhambri plays Marc Gicquel of France in Q1 of the men's singles at Wimbledon. If he wins that, he could play the 16th seed Aljaz Bedene of Slovenia. This is Yuki's section of the qualifying draw:
BEDENE, Aljaz SLO [16] vs
DUCKWORTH, James AUS
BHAMBRI, Yuki IND vs
GICQUEL, Marc FRA
ZHANG, Ze CHN vs
RICE, David GBR (WC)
BERANKIS, Ricardas LTU vs
KUZNETSOV, Andrey RUS [32]

Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012
Marc Gicquel is a 35-year-old tour veteran, who bloomed quite late -- but made it to #37 in the world in 2008 (when he was 31). That year he made R3 in the main draw of both Wimbledon and the Australian Open (as well as the 2009 FO). He seems to like the faster surfaces, as he made the final at Den Bosch (on grass) and his other two tour finals on carpet (indoors, I assume). He is currently ranked 191, and likely to be a tough, wily opponent.

Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012
Neither Yuki nor any of the others (Divij, Purav, Vishnu) appear to be in the qualifying doubles draw. Sad!

But Yuki is there, he should try to partner with someone
Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012
Do you guys even check the cut-off before commenting? The last team to get into the doubles qualies has a combined ranking of 241. That means an average ranking of about 120 each player. How do you think Yuki or Vishnu would get in?

Maharaja - we had discussed this in detail just 4-5 days back in the Notiingham challenger thread. People are just not reading the posts like you pointed out.
Here is rajorshi's question on it, my answer, prashantham's numbers etc.
