Re: Sumit Nagal thread
Did they not use to have a lottery among the losers in the final round because the top-seed was tanking after an injury was known, etc.? Or is that gone?

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
That is applicable when there is a withdrawal from main draw during the time qualifying is on and is not completed.
If the vacency arises after qualifying is completed, I think it is the highest ranked players who get in as injury was not know when qualifying was being played.

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
Makes sense. If you are not sure of a place, you will not be tanking. Thanks for the explanation.

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
I guess Sumit is second in line for an LL spot. Qualies 6th seed Rodionov is ahead of him. So Sumit needs two withdrawals. Not much of a chance.

Both Milos and Sumit will have fitness issues in case march goes long. Sumit playing on house money has a chance!

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
Nice but well deserved break for Sumit! Normally, he would be super lucky to play 200 rank players at this stage. However, Raonic is a quality player who can completely overpower Sumit so here’s hoping that he makes enough mistakes that Sumit can take advantage of this break.

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
Lucky break for Sumit.
Nagal replaces Nadal, who withdrew from the event.
Hope he takes the match deep as Raonic has given walkover in long matches in his last couple of events.
