Yes, the French Open qualifiers start on 21st September, and Sumit/Prajnesh/RamK are in the list for men, Ankita for women.

Anyone know what's next for Sumit. Is he getting a direct entry into the French Open or will he have to play qualies? I assume the qualies will take place in Paris, unlike at the U.S. Open.

Before French open qualies, Sumit will be playing $ 125K Iasi challenger in Romania next week where he should be among top 4 seeds.

Sumit pulled out of that Romanian challenger. So, looks like French open qualies is the next tournament for Sumit. Prajnesh and RamK also not in the entry list anywhere next week, so French open qualies next for them too it seems.

Hopefully, Sumit is just being smart about his fitness. He is very capable of qualifying into the French Open, so hopefully he will be fit and ready to go during the French Open qualies.

Today Sumit is playing in the qualies of Sardinia ATP in Italy.

Sumit better start winning the matches he is supposed to win. He will always have it hard with the Top 50 guys, but if he cannot win 90% of the 100-200 ranked guys, he is not heading anywhere.

And next he plays , 102 ranked Slovenian A Martin, a winnable match , considering his excellent play against Laslo Djere.

Sumit is 1-0 against Martin beating him during his great clay court run in South America last year. Hopefully, he can repeat that win here...

And Sumit qualifies for the main draw with an excellent dominating win over a player ranked close to top 100.

I watched the second set of this match and Sumit was playing flawless error free tennis much better than I saw him play in last 2-3 weeks including French open qualies.

His performance against Djere last week kind of indicated that he was in good form.

He is playing clear top 100 tennis right now.
