I was in Indore the last 5 days and I heard atleast 10 people on the road listening to this song. Whats up with the song, never thought it is so popular in the Northern part of India too. It has over 27 million views on youtube and every one including CNN loves this song, every second person has it as a ring tone, the song is being played on every channel from Sun Tv to MTV! It is pretty amazing how it has captured the imagination of the world. I opened a thread thinking that our forum shouldn't lag behind in celebrating the song . If anyone didn't listen to the song and its lyrics, do it immediately otherwise one month down the line I wouldn't be surprised if someone from Pitcairn Islands looks at you strangely for not knowing about Kolaveri di!!!

Oh no Sandeep i was quite happy that there were no mentions about this song here.To be honest im wondering how come this song become so popular among other parts of India and some foreign nations too.Guess im the only south indian atleast not to follow this badly.Credits to the young Anirudhh though.

I too don't understand why it is so popular, it is definitely catchy but there are definitely much better songs. May be the lyrics played a big part in it becoming popular!

Why this karmaveri, karmaveri...

I liked the song. In my opinion, as a musician (both karnatic and western), I thought its musical quality is surprisingly good. Very crisp mixing and quite flawless compositional quality also probably had something to do with the popularity of the song.
