I did too. And, had it gone to the third set, he would have lost for sure, with negative energy all around him. Just before those final 5 points where he went for some shots, and served well thrice, he had made some real bonehead errors -- like he wanted to lose the match or something. I guess he finally decided to play 5 good points in a row, saving 3 set points right there. Just start winning some matches now, Ram.

Re: European Challengers 2023
Yes, great to see RamK finally breaking that losing streak. Watched some part of that match and he was playing better than what he was in the earlier matches which she was losing. Maybe that run to doubles final this week has added some confidence.
Btw, RamK is not in the doubles draw here, only playing singles. So, we should shift this to RamK thread.

Re: Ramkumar Ramanathan thread
Yes.. the Ram of old is back as he routs his 4th seeded opponent 3 & 0.
Looked completely focused during his match and rather makes me more perplexed as to why he couldn't come out with this game and to inflict all the ridicule and raise unnecessary indirect questions and doubts whether it was deliberately done.
A match up against the Dutch veteran Kenny de Scheeper in the MD would be most welcome.

Re: Ramkumar Ramanathan thread
Where was this Ram, all this while? He decided to just start hitting his shots, I guess. Those 5 points at the end of the last match turned his career around? I hope so... I seriously hope so. There is so much more tennis left in this man, Ram. Come on, Ram. Build on it! We have faith in you

Wooooow, What happened here?
Something seems to have triggered in RR's brain.
What will he do... win Wimbledon next?

Re: Ramkumar Ramanathan thread
Losing day in day out is difficult. You lose in the QF,sf,f...you still have something to takeaway. You lose everything you play, it kills you. We have no clue what's to be in place of Sindhu or RamK. Remember, Harsh and Somdev just gave up. You have played the game at a certain level, and then not able to play it again the same way kills you. I remember Som saying, there is no motivation left, if you can't play the way you played once. Especially if you are playing many notches lower.
So good job RamK. You survived the worst phase. All the very best...

Re: Ramkumar Ramanathan thread
RR's match not going in the right direction today... he is playing against someone ranked 182 and he is 400 places in the wrong direction.
1-6, 2-3 with a break down.
COME BACK! COME BACK! COME BACK!
