2011 MAJORS / WGC EVENTS
Arjun Atwal and Vijay Singh are in the field at THE MASTERS, starting this Thursday.
For Arjun, its his first Masters and I hope he atleast makes the cut.
Augusta is a very tough course, especially for first timers and hope Arjun plays the weekend.
Arjun had practice rounds with Tiger, his freind....
Good luck AA & VJ.

If you don't mind, restart/move this thread to "Golf Tournament" instead of " US and European Pro Tours." This way the thread will be visible in "Active Topics." Otherwise, the thread just remains invisible to most of the user

Chance of watching Arjun on regular TV is very very low, until he hits a spectacular shot, or he is in top 10 on the leaderboard. But you can watch him on the Amen corner and holes 15 and 16 on live streaming.
Well, Arjun started well with three pars on first three holes. But he just made his first bogey on 4th and currently T35.

Another double and a triple bogey and the wheels are coming off Arjun in nhis debut Masters.
+6 and at the foot of the leaderboard.
Rory Mcilroy finished at -7

Re: 2011 MAJORS / WGC EVENTS
Arjun is playing a good round today, 4 under for today. But its too late and too little to make the cut. The dreadful first round of +8 is to big a hill to climb. He is still 4 over for the tournament with 5 holes to go. The projected cut is at +1. Anyway , a good outing for him on 2nd day and he'll leave with some positive memories from his first Master's tournament.
Update: par on 14th. Four holes to go. He is now on par 5 15th hole. A chance to pick another birdie. Go Arjun!

Re: 2011 MAJORS / WGC EVENTS
It seems Indian golf (including Vijay Singh) has taken a nose dive ever since the Indian tennis star started ascending. I don't know what's wrong with Vijay. He has gone from a sure shot top-10 type of player to barely even making the cuts in one year. Jeev, Arjun, Jyoti etc. have also not made much noise as they had started to knock on the door in the recent years. Any ideas?

Re: 2011 MAJORS / WGC EVENTS
I think age and injury have finally caught up with Vijay. He had a fabulous year winning the year end series a couple of years ago but had an injury going into the following year. He has not been the same since that injury. Quite likely age has finally caught up with him after he had one of the best runs of anyone in golf history in his 40s.
Agree that the Arjun, Jeev, Daniel etc. seem to have stagnated after seemingly having reached the top-tier of golf while the next crop of Shiv, Gaganjeet, SSP etc. have not really made the transition to the top tier.

Re: 2011 MAJORS / WGC EVENTS
Arjun's woes at the Majors continue. He shot a 78 (and lies T128) after the first round of the PGA championship.
On a separate note, there was a long article in the NYT (and the IHT) looking at Tiger's attempts at comeback, and his health. The first friend of Tiger's quoted in that article was Arjun Atwal. It does appear that they are very good friends indeed. But friendship must stop on the greens! Tiger shot a 77, Arjun had to do a tad worse... ?

Re: 2011 MAJORS / WGC EVENTS
Arjun and his friend Tiger both shot 73s in the second round, but both consequently missed the cut by a country mile -- Arjun by 6 strokes, and Tiger by 5...
