Sania leads Indian challenge in the Fed Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group II

Sania Mirza will lead the Indian campaign in the Fed Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group II competition as selectors on Saturday named a six-member squad which also has fast rising Poojashree Venkatesh.

The All India Tennis Association selection committee, led by Anil Dhupar, dropped Ankita Bhambri while retaining veteran Rushmi Chakravarthy and Sanna Bhambri.

The selectors rewarded Poojashree for her brilliant performance last year, in which she won four ITF Futures titles out of five finals.

The competition will held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia next month.

Rohit Rajpal was appointed as non-playing captain while Enrico Piperno will be the coach of the team.

Yeah iShUuU but she is one of the slumping sisters of wta you know so i think she will be easy to beat with the Sania we have had in 2006.

Sania, hopefully you will take some inspiration from Li Na & Jie. I know , i know Chian has lot of money which gives them tremendous buying capacity & they even want to buy the AO but these 2 women are playing tennis of their life & they have worked really hard for this day. I feel proud that 2 asian in the semis. After all this is the grand slam of asia pacific.

She is in the quali in Dubai . May be this time she has decided not to accept a WC. (Maximum of 3 WC one player can accept)

After australian open, Sania 59th in singles.
33 rd in doubles.
Cmon Sania give us some gud results in t forthcoming asian tour.

After her deadly run in AO maria kirilenko has withdrawn from pattaya open . May be Sania avoids a bit tougher opponent in order to defend the 200 points.

Now Sania is the 7th seed

No.Players get seeded only based on the rank on monday of tourney.One more gud thing s that Shuai peng ll also withdraw.
With Dokic unable to do her last yr's cameo in AO she s at 90+.So
Sania ll be seeded 5th IMO.
