Ponting rises to the big occasion with a century. Kudos to the great man. It was almost over for him during this World Cup, but what a day for him to find his nous!

Odd decision to give the 48th over to Zaheer. Bhajji and Ashwin will bowl the final two. Can Zak pay back his skipper with a wicket here?

I think that was becuase this was last over of powerplay. Not a wicket but only 6 runs which is good at this stage.

  Ashwin gets Ponting! I think that was the match-winning delivery. Well done, Ravichandran Ashwin.

So India's best bowlers have been (in this order) Yuvi (2/44), Ashwin (2/52) and Zaheer (2/53). Let's see if Bhajji (0/37 in 9 overs) can redeem himself in the 50th over.

Superb 49th over by Ashwin giving away only 4 runs. David Hussey has played a very good hand though . They should have had him in their team all along ahead of out of form Cameron White.

Bhajji finishes on 0/50, unacceptable for a lead bowler. India need 261 to go to Mohali for the SF against Pakistan.

168/4 ... Now unnecessary run-out ... Already 2 times Gambhir was lucky and he saved one ball before he got run-out.

Gautam Gambhir tried to hard to get himself run out 3 times in a space of 5 balls, was unlucky twice, but got lucky on the third attempt. This is unbelievable. The match was truly India's but Gambhir managed to give a glimmer of hope to the Aussies. India 172/4 in 34 overs.

We are making a hash of this chase. I hope Yuvi and Dhoni take us through rather than leaving it to the tail (and out of form Raina)

Also excellent support from Raina ... Yuvi and Raina added unbeaten 74 runs in last 10 overs to gave us 5 wickets victory keeping more than 2 overs.

So next will be mother of all matches in this world cup - India vs Pakistan at Mohali on Wednesday, 30th March 2011.

Kohli and Dhoni are the most useless players in the team, apart from Munaf that is. They are so uni-dimensional and restricted in their strokeplay that its very easy to contain them. To Kohli, you keep bowling medium pace outside the off and you will choke him. To Dhoni, you bowl straight and have a straightish mid-on and mid-off. Its a wonder how so many teams havent figured this out sooner. How many times will Yuvi bail out India? I know we cant make changes now in the middle of the WC, but atleast after the WC, both should be dropped and some exciting strokemakers be drafted in their place.
