Shatrughan Sinha is a lifetime Vice-President? I have never heard him ever talk about Tennis. How did we tolerate these guys for so long?

The organization is captured by Khanna and his stooges. Nobody else cares or wanted to do anything until now.

Yes there is going to be massive power struggle to head AITA,
TNTA led VIjay, Bhupathi , and even Lp could all figure in the race.

But don't be surprised , just like a unknown person with no credentials was chosen to be the Team Captain, we might even see a third generation Khanna's jettisoned to head the organisation to protect AIKA fiefdom.

AITA website seems to have just gone blank , and my anti virus software gives a warning when clicking on its website.

Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on ?

They have to remove all the old names and replace them with new ones, and get the site back up after that, would be my guess.

There will be another board meeting in secret, a sham election, and some chamchas will emerge as the next Office bearers of AITA. The game goes on.

DLTA , managing committee has a new entrant with a familiar sounding "Khanna" tag.

So now we have a 3rd Generation Khanna groomed and trained, to continue the decade's old vice like grip the Khanna's have on AITA.

So, there are 7 junior ITF tournaments scheduled to be conducted in the first three months of 2021 and AITA can’t encourage state tennis bodies to find sponsors for pro tennis?

I do not think it is a question of not finding sponsers at least this year. They may not have government permission to host the pro tournaments. I think there is still a 14 day quarentine for those coming from abroad. Unless those restrictions are relaxed no pro players at futures level will come to India. No tournaments are held anywhere in Asia still.

These junior tournament hardly have any foreign presence. So, it does not matter for these. Anyway I opening a thread to discuss these ITF junior tournaments as there were some envouraging results this week.

But, surely, if a tournament is cancelled, they can be allowed to try to get in somewhere else. There should be a rule that in other tournaments, they should accommodate such people by allowing them to be in the alternates list even if the deadline has passed.

^^^ The US and the Europe ITFs have fixed draw sizes and it won’t be fair for the original players who may have made the direct cut off at the withdrawal deadline to make way for some higher ranked players, unless these tournaments expand their draw sizes. This is a mess and as a result of which, Ankita will be missing out on collecting ranking points for the 4th straight week in a row. :damn:

No, you do not take out anyone who made the cut and went there. You put these people in the alternates if they want to go there. But, I suppose they may not want to travel that far and maybe only 1-2 spots may open up to the alternates. The alternates are not guaranteed anything. So, it may be fine to rejig the waiting list maybe with some protections may be to the 1st in the old waiting list.

Unfortunate that these tournaments are cancelled. Just the other day I said that these tournaments are so good for our players coming at this time as they also ramped up WTA points for 25K tournaments. But, expected it coming after this covid surge. Hope they can hold it later when this covid wave comes down.
