Re: Multiple identities in an anonymous forum
Now that I have had time to read Varma's post properly, I have come to the conclusion that Varma is Sunitarao, et al.

I was also very confused by it at first...and was wondering how Sunitarao managed to get hold of Varma's identity...or to alter his mind-set so completely!

Re: Multiple identities in an anonymous forum
It is for people with multiple ids that the Southern US term of "y'all" must have been invented. I always wondered why, when I entered a restaurant in Virginia, the hostess would say "Y'all c'mon in!" I'd look to my left and right to see if my imaginary ids were with me.
BTW, do you what the plural of y'all is?
It is "All y'all"

Re: Multiple identities in an anonymous forum
jai, "y'all" is the plural form of "you" ...
It also has a possessive form - "yall's" ... As in the Texas fan telling OU fans - "Yall's university sucks!" ...
But I have not found a perfect replacement for the word "y'all" ... I like the word.

y'all = "you all" - that's what I learnt during my Texas days..
howdy = "how do you do" was the first thing that I learnt

Re: Multiple identities in an anonymous forum
Yes, but the Southerners also seem to use it in singular form when addressing an individual. May be they see the one person, but know that that person is masquerading as three people on SportsIndia.com forum - so just to confuse and amaze them they address them as y'all.jayakris wrote: jai, "y'all" is the plural form of "you" ...

Re: Multiple identities in an anonymous forum
Jai, it is like the royal "We". Y'all is a great and effective construct.

You got to give me credit for putting it in the General Chit Chat forumAll this started by an innocuous looking post from Suresh

yeah where is cconked? are you around man if you are reading this sometime?
actually i thought he is a young guy with potential but immature and incomplete in critical thinking methods as he often relied on speculations and assumptions.
he took a break for a few months and suddenly appeared in the wtaworld sania forum claiming meditation has done him wonders.
i urged him to cut down on the hyperbole noting the implausibility of his claims that he can hit a forehand like federer. he said he knew what he was talking about and he does not care whether i believed it or not. there was a sort of heated argument on this there.
Much to my horror, he posted the same claim here in the thread "how make champions". he got a few ribbings. some defended him though all pointed out he was exaggerrating.but he has not turned up since.
he returned for one brief last moment when sania thrashed Na li in the asian games SF i think. that's the last i remember.

CC (CompletelyConked) has written something after reading books like Power Of Now, Power Of SubConscious Mind etc. I wish his prediction come true that Sania will be super player in 2 years.

I guess somebody cloned PKB and now we have PKBasu2 as a member
You don't believe me? Check this out.
Take a bow PKB, you indeed are unique.

On a more serious note, I wish someone would clone PKB because the world needs more people with the talent, knowledge, savvy, experience, and all the other qualities that PKB has (he has too many qualities to list here).PKBasu2 wrote:Of course, my argument isn't that everyone does it and so it's fine. Far from it.
