Harshit Rana bowled a super over. Saved KKR. Hooda, Bumrah, Natarajan, Samson, Kuldeep, Rawat, Abhisekh Porel, Mohit, Arshdeep, and Ramandeep Singh had a good game. Hope some of the younger ones can do this match after match and emerge.

Porel is the Bengal keeper and a hard-hitting batter. 21 years old.

Fantastic inning by Kohli and icing on the cake by Karthik. Rawat played badly today with the bat. Prabhsimran did great. Jitesh was fine too but a tad slow. All these are, of course, in one game. As the Rawat case shows, you can do great on one game and badly the other. They are all human after all. Let us see in the long run who edges adhead. Kohli seems like wants to be in the WC team. :-) Today's bowling hero: Harpreet Brar.

Rawat in 59 T20 matches and 51 innings has SR of 120 and average of 24. Improvements can definitely happen year to year, but a long way to go. P Singh is doing nice cameos, he is still not keeping for his IPL squad.

Agree , Harshit Rana was the star of the first round from up and coming youngsters closely followed by Abhishek Porel who has domestic Sr of 148 and average of 27. Naman Dhir another name to watch. He has no domestic track record with less than 5 matches. Who is Mumbai Indian scout? Make him the scout for indian team.

After Dhir shows he can do things a bit more consistently. :-) BTW, I think any donkey can keep in T20Is. Prabhsimran is not a great keeper but can do the job. Batting wins matches. If we can have seven batters who can build a wall that does not fail on an odd day, with Bumrah, Kuldeep, etc. we can win a cup. The problem, of course, is that in T20Is, some blaster like Dre Russell in the first round can wake up someday and just demolish everyone. We hope that is SkAY in the semis and finals. And, not against us. Here's to hope.

Royals, Kings, and Titans seem to be the top teams. Sort of again. KKR always creeps close to qualifying for the knockouts, and then fails. We will see.

This is why we should at least state that the seniors places are not guaranteed. It seems like Kohli has a fire under him lit where he is now there to earn his place in the WC. Nothing could be better than this. Let us see if he can bat at a SR of 145-150 with over 25 avg. I think the latter is not a problem for him. If he takes more risk and reinvents himself, then game on. Instead of raising Pant to the stars, someone should tell him the same.

Very poor mentality from Arshdeep. 10 runs in 6 ball is hard to defend, but being an international bowler with high reputation of bowling end overs, should have tried to make it tough specially against a semi retired player who spends most of his time as cricket expert & commentry. There is no hatred against DK, but with all these IPL performance in present & past he has proved that selectors were wrong in picking him for ICC events as he can't do this job in international stage

The selectors were fine. Just saying nonsense does not make it so. The only keeper who has scored more runs than him and is faster while keeping is KL Rahul. Dhoni scored runs but he was slower. We have not had a keeper who can hit hard in T20Is and can score some runs. Why pick on him when all our keepers have been bad. Uthappa played very well but that was only over two matches. He did not keep regularly. We need to finally find a keeper who can bat fast and score runs.

I am glad Karthik trained hard and is doing well in this IPL. Shows his professionalism. Selectors cannot create players when we do not have any. They tried Samson, Pant, and Kishan during his time and all three were worse than him.

Even as a batter, only three batters were faster than him (over 15 dismissals): Sehwag, Yashasvi, Axar Patel, and SkAY, all big hitters. He has been better than the rest. He deserved his chances and he rightly got chosen.

Over small sample sizes, one can show anything. Great to see Karthik doing well again and proving the haters wrong. He is showing his class.

Arshdeep had a good first match, and an awful 2nd match.

While Kohli once again did great while chasing, we have the batting to chase down most totals even without him. Almost all of our crucial losses have been while batting first. I would like to see how he does when batting first, that's where he needs to show he can step up the pace. Our bowling is not good enough to defend an average total and we really need to set a big total to win the crucial knockout games.

DK is the biggest looser and most pathetic WKB ever, destroyed team selection everytime. Dhoni has T20 WC with slow innings, your nonsense DK can't even go close to final in T20. When he comes to bat in ICC stage it seems he is making debut with lots of pressure so keep your nonsense thought with yourself. Shit comparision with WC winner is biggest example of stupidity

If DK is picked again, team is going to have exit from second round in WC. More DK impresses through IPL, worst will be for Indian team, if he is under consideration. A batter in the name of finisher was shivering to take the team home against a mediocre spinner Nawaz. He is lucky that Ashwin did the job otherwise he would have been treated like Chetan Sharma. It will be good for Indian team if he finds his place as cricket expert or commentry in T20 WC. Someone with 8 average in 10 matches, in T20WC is best keeper batter :-)

Samson, Pant, Kishan, Jurel, Porel, Jitesh should be in consideration then any part time cricketer.

But he was not even bowling, so how can u call him an all rounder? They replaced him with impact player.

Is he doing enough to make the team as top order batsman over Sky , (assuming kohli will not get dropped)

Or is he better all rounder than Pandya? They will never pick him over Jadeja. There is just no way, I see a pathway for him in the playing 11 unless a player gets injured. May be just may be all the Pandya’s shenanigans with Mumbai Indians may have Rohit dropping Pandya.

I actually would love to see Dube in the team. He showed that he can hit pace bowlers today and that is very encouraging. He may squeak into 15 over Rinku singh.

He is not given the ball. Indian captains are good in developing players of other countries like Omarzai, Green, who are also getting theashed but they are not ready to invest on Shankar, Dube, V Iyer as allrounders.

Selectors are interested in investing one dimmensionals. No matter how much these players do well, one dimmensionals will get picked.

Dube is clearly doing everything to make it difficult for selectors

Three of Rinku/Dube/Jaiswal/ Gill will not be in the playing 11 as it stands today.

And very likely only two of the four may make it to WC team especially if India decided to take two keepers

Abhisekh Sharma another " 3rd class" is also shining. Jaiswal is best no doubt but for team combination and bowling options, this sort of talents are required. The Allrounder Pandya will continue leaking runs @11/12 an over in each match, whereas Umran will be criticized, Dube will be replaced, Shankar won't be given ball.

Hardik Pandya acquisition seems to be another big mistake committed by MI top brass (following on steps of Jofra Archer acquisition). I think they should fire Jayawardene or whoever is making these calls.
GT won under Pandya not because of his captaincy, but because he got a really good team.

Pandya was third best bowler in the match in terms of run rate.. As a bowler he did reasonably okay. As a batsman he failed miserably 24 off 20 balls.. absolutely ludicrous..Some pne of his caliber should have had strike rate of at least 200 in this game. He is batting lot more slowly and I still don't understand why.. It made sense with GT, where they had a relatively ordinary batting line up, but here in this game?

Umran was a impact bowler and just bowled one over.

Abhishek sharma is a tantalising propsect.. Needs to build little more consistency.

SRH has a batting line up that is absolutely a beast.. Their bowling is still a suspect, but their games with Head, Klassen, Aiden Markram Abhishek is really good.
