Buttler and his partner batted at 165 SR but that was too slow because they were chasing 240. After Gill got out, his team lost steam. 12 overs 145 or so was on track. Then, they could not sustain it.

In one match, Indian high impact players:

Sai Kishore, Sai Sudarshan, Ruturaj, Ishan, Shreyas, Ash Sh., Krunal, DLC, Vignesh, Kuldeep, Khaleel

Impact Sub: Tushar Deshpande

Impact player Vyshak made the difference today for Punjab in the final overs, alongside Arshdeep. It is the Impact Player rule that makes IPL matches unpredictable. Perhaps the rule should be extended to T20Is too.

There should be something in the pitch for pacers atleast in second fixtures & keeping in mind upcomming England tour. In T20 World Cups there are also certain games which are thrillers with low totals, these things doesn't happens in IPL

Professional teams try to maximise their payoff from their player rosters/choices. Picking Shardul Thakur worked: he was MoM!!

Pant was stupid to bowl Thakur only two overs in the first match. I don't know about the players Raj mentioned above, but Thakur is better than many other Indian bowlers who are playing the IPL. Don't know why he was not selected in the first place.

CSK lions bearded in their own lair with opposition spinners getting the better of them? Good job by the RCB batsmen to get close to 200 at Chepauk.

Shaik Rasheed & Kambooj are sitting in the bench whereas failure like Tripathy, Hooda are getting picked continously. CSK is'nt promoting new players now.

Anshul Khamboj is a bowler who can bat a bit. CSK needs batters. Rasheed is too slow. SR 127 in T20s. He needs to first dominate cupcake batters before he gets a chance. CSK should play their best 11. They don't need to promote players who have failed against weaker opponents. After they are knocked out, if that happens, then they can play the youngsters irrespective of whether they have succeeded in the lower levels. Shaik Rasheed needs more matches in the lower levels - domestic T20s and show what he can do before he will get a chance in an IPL team regularly.

Its hard for young players in CSK, as those retired players are automatic selection. Dhoni, Jadeja, Ashwin...are just adding star value to the IPL nothing for India team future

The IPL is primarily a professional T20 league, not a cradle for the Indian team. The owners will attempt to maximise their performances and payoffs, not focus on preparing players for Team India. Aniket Verma, however, is looking like a good prospect for India.

Remarkably gutsy decision by Riyan Parag to give the final two overs to Indian bowlers -- and especially the 20th over to Sandeep Sharma -- rather than Jofra Archer. It worked, as Sandeep bowled a perfect Yorker that got Dhoni holing out to long on.

Owners should also stop claiming an individual players belongs to their franchise, posting in social media, picture, video in their jersey, when such new talent performs for India. If its a business then it should wind up only during its tenure. Ankit Verma is pace bowling allrounder, hope we see his bowling ability in few matches.

So, we'd had 1-match performers like Shreyas, Ashutosh Sharma, Ashwani Kumar, Priyansh Arya, Arshdeep, Sashank Singh.

Two-match performers - Kuldeep, Shardul Thakur, Sai Kishore, Sai Sudarshan.

Three-match performer: Aniket Verma. Guy is 23. Has an average of 29 with a SR of 200+ in four T20 matches he has played. Good luck to him.

This is not to say that the two and three match performers have performed in multiple matches. They have just played in multiple matches and have performed enough in these matches to be the best impact players in the 2-match player and 3-match player categories.

KKR thinktank is terrible they will left out every performers for Russell and Narine, who have finished their mojo. Sisodia with 130+ SR not getting picked. Moeen, Gurbaz are much better then Russell and Narine. Rahane, Manish Pandey are now finished enity. It seems KKR are highly satisfied with 2 trophies they just want to be the part of the league this time. Manish in that under19 WC followed by domestic performance looked next big thing. He was much ahead of Virat and at present nowhere
