Terrific work by the world champion to win again with black pieces in the fifth game. That was the game that Kramnik was hoping to win with white, but Anand crushed him again:

Another terrific performance by Anand to won with Black ...
Frankly speaking this is a really bad work of Kramnik's seconds in preparation ... Reason is, Kramnik once again was surprised in the same opening ... Then again he got into time trouble ... After experiencing some problems in the middle of the game, he missed a nice combination before losing his second game ... I think this could prove decisive for the outcome of the championship but still lot many matches r going to play.

After having 2 points lead, Anand will definetly start playing positively with White, in order to keeping the gap between them ... Anand rarely loses with White, so Kramnik need to fired up from game 6 to catch him.
Playing with White Anand started with Nimzo-Indian.

Anand seems to be marching his two passed pawns further and further up the board. Can Kramnik get time to do anything on the a-file?
Re: World Chess Championship - Viswanathan Anand vs Vladimir Kra
Anand wins a third time, this time (finally! ) with white.
There are six more games to come, but this is a serious lead.

Fantabulous. Never seen a blow out like this in any World championship match in any sports, let alone Chess! After all that talk about Kramnik being a better match-play champion, Anand simply destroyed him over the last 4 games (3.5 to 0.5).
What serious lead? Anand is +3. Kramnik has to score 3 wins in the last 6 games just to tie up the match!! The championship is in the bag viji.
All hail the King! Great job Vishy Anand!!
cheers

Re: World Chess Championship - Viswanathan Anand vs Vladimir Kra
Just unbelievable!!!
3rd win at halfway point in the championship.
This is getting so one sided. Kramnik has been totally destroyed. I still think that Kramnik was the best player today who could have challenged Anand. But this result firmly sets Anand on the top. Anand has finally destroyed those insinuations that he is not a big matchplay player.
I'm almost pitying Karamnik as he seems to be off-form. But I won't mind at all if the next six games also have similar results, i.e. 3 more wins for Anand. By the way, will the championship end if Anand reaches 6.5 points Go Anand!!

I believe the answer is yes. At least that is the way previous championship match play has worked.ajay wrote:By the way, will the championship end if Anand reaches 6.5 points Go Anand!!

Anand is building an aura around himself that is associated with great world champions (like Kasparov/Karpov) -- this is crucial in matchplay as the mental aspect of the game is the key to winning. He's got to show no mercy to Kramnik and finish him off as soon as possible. Go Vishy.

Fabulous performance by Vishwanathan Anand. Two more victories and he will have retained the title of World Champion. Pravin Thipsay has a nice commentary on the match in The Telegraph (I can't post the link, but please go to www.telegraphindia.com, sports section, to see the article).

Re: World Chess Championship - Viswanathan Anand vs Vladimir Kra
Great, so Anand convincingly outplayed Kramnik and scored well deservedly victory for third time in 47 moves ... Anand is giving one after another knockout punches to Kramnik ...
Now its becoming more and more difficult to Kramnik catching Anand ... Go Anand.
