Kumar wrote: After two birdies and two bogeys, Jeev doubled the par 3 7th hole to fall to -5 and T10... Come on Jeev..
Right now David Frost is the leader at -9
Kumar - Leader is Ross Fisher @ -17 not Frost at -9 !!!
Jeev needs to steady his round as he is +2 after 9.
The back nine is playing more difficult and Jeev needs to be under PAR to get into top 5 and maybe an open berth....

Prem, Kumar is focused on a different competetion :) He is only looking at a subset of players who can make it to Open Championship, and the leader among them is FROST.

FROST is all set to clinch the OPEN position as the next contender for Open, Jeev (-6) is 4 strokes behind Frost(-10)

Jeev missed a birdie on par 5 15th and bogeys the next :( Jeev(-5) is down to T9. He is 2 overpar for the day. It is a tough day as there are many overpar scores, But on the other hand, Garcia, who was tied with Jeev after 3rd round, has moved to 2nd spot with a 6 under round with one more hole to play.

OOPS! Another bogey on 17th and Jeev is T10. Will he finish in top 10 or not?

Jeev did finish T10, with a 75 in the final round. The bogeys on the 16th and 17th holes definitely hurt him. I think David Frost qualified into the British Open, just pipping Jeev.

Frost qualifies.
At 49, he played very steady golf in very bad conditions yesterday.
Ross Fisher, the winner and Garcia also played exceptionally well when the scoring average was around 75!!!
Jeev missed from about 2 feet on 17  :damn:
Overall top 10 is still a good result, though we expect much more these days.

Except Jeev, not a good day for Indian players. Jeev is currently T19 at -3, which is just 1 stroke away from the top 10 in the leaderboard. He is yet to play two more holes and he can very well finish the first day once again in top 10. Good job Jeev and keep doing your stuff.

Shiv Kapur is once again fighting to make the cut. He finisshed his round at par to be tied at 76th position. A double bogey and a bogey neutralized the three birdies he made. Tomorrow, he has to cut down on the bogeys and get some birdies to make the cut.
Same thing goes for SSP who is one stroke further behind (+1) and T98.
Unfortunately Daniel Chopra had a horrible round as he lies at the bottom but one position (T150),  with a 5 over round. All day he had just one birdie.

The Asians have really arrived in the EPGA! The leader after Day 1 is Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand.

Jeev's good run is continuing on the second day. He is 2-under par after 8 holes today, and has thus moved up to T7. Keep it up, Jeev!

Daniel, sadly, has failed to adjust to European conditions, and continues to sink. After 12 holes, he is +3 for the day and +8 for the tournament -- and is last but two in the standings  :(

Jeev has travelled to his favourite destination - JAPAN and Jyoti takes a break....
So we have SSP & Shiv (who needs some decent finishes to secure his card) for this week.....

Shiv did well on his back 9 and rolled in 4 succesive birdies from hole 10-13 to finish the day on -5.
No BOGEYS today.
Shiv is tied 6th and needs to build on it.
The field is weak and he should take advantage and seal his card here.

Shiv didn't do a whole lot today.. Had 6 birds and 4 bogeys to card 2 under 70 round.. He is currently -7 for tournament and T14th.. Leader is at -13...

SSPC who was T42 after -2 first round had a disastrous second round , five over 77 and will now go home for the extended break...

With no more EPGA tournaments (SAS masters on August 14th), they will get forced two weeks break (asian tour does not resume until August 6th)...

Shiv is having one hell of a round.. if not for a treble bogey 3rd and a bogey , he could have been at the top of leaderboard now.. He is currently -3 (thru 15 holes) and -10 for tournament
