At Macau Open - First Round
T2     Gaurav GHEI          65       -6
T13    Rahil GANGJEE        67       -4
T13    Uttam Singh MUNDY    67       -4
T13    Digvijay SINGH       67       -4
T13    Arjun SINGH          67       -4
T51    Gaganjeet BHULLAR    70       -1
T51    Sujjan SINGH         70       -1
T90    Amritinder SINGH     72       +1
T90    S.S.P. CHOWRASIA     72       +1
T103   Harmeet KAHLON       73       +2
T103   Gurbaaz MANN         73       +2
T114   Firoz ALI            74       +3

Good start for Indian contingents on this easy playing Macau Golf & Country Club course ... Our 5 players r in top 15 ... But expecting much better rounds from SSP, Harmeet and Gurbaaz.

Gaurav started well and continuing with his good form ... He scored round without any blemish ... Started from back 9, he scored birdie on 1st hole (10th), 6th (15th) and ended back 9 with an eagle on 9th (18th hole) ... On front 9, he scored birdies on 15th hole (6th) and 18th hole (9th) ... Now he is 1 stroke behind leader and tying with 4 players on 2nd place.

Rahil also had round without any blemish with 4 birdies, Mundy had 5 birdies and 1 bogey, Digvijay Singh had 6 birdies and 2 bogey and Arjun Singh had 5 birdies and 1 bogey in their rounds.

Good to see young Bhullar is in contention of making cut ... He had rollercoaster round which consist 5 birdies, 2 bogeys and a double bogey on Par-4 5th hole.

Once again Gaurav Ghei has put himself in good postion on first day. He would look to build on this good start by getting away from the rest of the field tomorrow. Way to go Gaurav!

Others also did well. Its a good first round but these players have to play four good rounds to get some good result. Nice to see Rahil making a move as he is having some tough time recently. I'm also looking forward to see youngster Gaganjeet Bhullar, whether or not he withstands the pressure of day two to make the cut.

Go Indians!

At Macau Open - Second Round Edited after end of second round.
T4    Gaurav GHEI          65 70      -7
T5    Gurbaaz MANN        73 63      -6
T13    Rahil GANGJEE        67 69      -6
T36    Arjun SINGH          67 73      -2
T51    Gaganjeet BHULLAR    70 71      -1
T51    Digvijay SINGH      67 74      -1
---------- cut @ Even -----------
T68    Harmeet KAHLON      73 70      +1
T77    Sujjan SINGH        70 74      +2
T77    Uttam Singh MUNDY    67 77      +2
T101  Firoz ALI            74 73      +5
T110  Amritinder SINGH    72 76      +6
T116  S.S.P. CHOWRASIA    72 77      +7

Today game was suspended due to strom warning ... Still 33 players needs to finish their 2nd round ... Mostly that wouldn't make difference on cutline ... From Indian only Rahil having unfinished round.

As Ajay mentioned these players need to play consistent 4 rounds for decent finish, but today many failed in making cut after their bright start ... Most poor result was from Mundy, who started his day from top 15 but today he required 10 strokes more from first round to finished dismissal 76th position ... Other who failed from their good starts r Sujjan Singh and also hoping good rounds from SSP and Amritinder Singh ... :damn:

But when Mundy was scoring 10 strokes more than his yesterday's score, another Indian was doing vice-versa ... Only Gurbaaz heard my call yesterday and scored best round of the day 8 under ... 10 strokes less than his yesterday's round ... :notworthy:

Today Gurbaaz produced unblemish round to scored 8 birdies, each 4 birdies on front and back 9 ... :) With that he rise in the ranking, currently he is tied for 5th position ... Otherhand Gaurav had average round with 3 birdies and 2 bogeys but still he managed to remain inside top 5.

Rahil still needs to comple his 3 holes, but he is in position of making cut ... Digvijay and Arjun Singh saved due to first round, both had poor second round ... Bhullar maintained his nerve and scored PAR round to making cut ... He had 3 birdies and 3 bogeys in his round.

So tomorrow Gurbaaz needs to show consistency to cement his position in top 5 and hope Gaurav will fight back after his average round.

Jaydeep.

PS. Thanks Ajay for making readable font.

Only half of the Indian contingent made the cut (including Rahil, although not done but he is in good position). Gurbaaz(-8) was excellent today! Wow! He actually has the best round of the first two days. Now if can do half of what he did today in next two days, he'll be assured of top 10 position. I look forward for -2 or better from him tomorrow and remain in contention. Go Gurbaaz!!

Gaurav did just good enough to go under par today as he is two strokes behind leader Richard Moir (-9, after 12 holes). Richard has an advantage as he can open a wider lead as with 6 holes to play in 2nd round. But you never know and he may actually come down. Hopefully Gaurav will come up with another good round tomorrow to remain in contention on last day.

Rahil has also played steadily today to maintain his position just outside top 10. Nice to see Gaganjeet Bhullar making the cut with a par round today. Go Gaganjeet! What happened to S.S.P.?

At Macau Open - Third Round (play suspended due to heavy rain)

1      Gaurav GHEI          65 70 -4    -11 after 11 holes
T6    Gurbaaz MANN        73 63 -1    - 7 after 12 holes
T13    Rahil GANGJEE        67 69 +2    - 4 after 12 holes
T35    Arjun SINGH          67 73 -1    - 3 after 15 holes *
T35    Digvijay SINGH      67 74 -2    - 3 after 12 holes *
T53    Gaganjeet BHULLAR    70 71 +1      E after 12 holes *

* - started from back 9

Until now Gaurav responded t0 Ajay's call and was 4 under for the day until play was suspended ... Till now he had unblemished round with 4 birdies on front 9 ... Gurbaaz started with 3 consecutive birdies on first 3 holes, but bogeys on 9th and 12th brought him down to 6th position from 2nd position ... Rahil had terrible day, he started well with 2 birdies in first 3 holes but then bogey on 9th and 12th with a  double bogey on 10th pushed him down below top 25 ... Arjun and Digvijay r doing well, they need to keep going this momentum ... Bhullar also couldn't do much.

So tomorrow Gaurav need to strengthen his 2 strokes lead and Gurbaaz need to bring back his second round game to remain in top 10.

Now the Macau Open has been reduced to a 54-hole tournament following unrelenting rain ... So Gaurav having big chance of repeating consecutive wins on APGA tour ... Currently he is having 2 strokes lead ... Play will begin in late afternoon ... Gurbaaz also having chance of finishing in top 10.

Gaurav played an excellent bogeyless round on first day and raised our expectation for this tournament. He is yet to start his second round. In fact all Indians play in the afternoon session. Click here to follow the SK telecom  Open live.
