Alcaraz-Tsitsipas on track. Djokovic-Khachanov, Rune-Ruud, Tiafoe-Coric on track.

Women's seeds (sorry being lazy and posting here) Swaitek-Gauff, Rybakina-Jabeur, Unseeded-Mertens, Kasatkina-Sabalenka. Mertens upsetting Pegula has opened up a path to the semis for her but, of course, nobody is going to be a cupcake for anyone. So, let's see.

So, the first three were as above. The fourth quarterfinals for men's is Zverev-Etcheverry. Zverev, is of course a former world #2 and made the semis the last two times. Let's see.

The women's is Swaitek-Gauff. Rybakina fell sick. So, Haddad Maia-Jabeur. Svitolina-Sabalenka. And, Muchova-Pavlyuchenkova. Svitolina is ex-world #3. But, this is her best peformance at the French.

Looks like Alcaraz is cramping. Djokovic will probably make the finals.

He (Alcaraz)was coasting in the second set and should have won it easily but in the 2nd half of S2 which took about half an hour for the 3/4 games was pushed to the limits to claim it and that extra excruciating work probably contributed to the cramping.

The debate as to GOAT may be over inthe next two years when DJoker potentially wins every
GS.the onlything that appear to be stopping him will be if he can stay injuryfree.

The next-gen has been very ordinary

I think Alcaraz is for real. Djokovic will likely win this title but Alcaraz will be a strong rival going forward.

I hate that Djokovic will become the "undisputed" GOAT because the newer generations have been so terrible but what can you do.

Roman Safiullin and Christopher Eubanks (the man Ramkumar has a 3-0 head to head record against) have been the surprise packages at Wimbledon this year, both through to the last-16. Eubanks had never played in the main draw before, I think. It's inspiring to see Challenger journeymen make breakthroughs like this -- although Safiullin's began earlier in the year, when he qualified into 3-4 Masters tournaments. Eubanks has proved to be a grass star at age 27, winning the singles title at Majorca (the same tournament where Yuki won his first ATP doubles title).

Both Safiullin and Eubanks are through to the Wimbledon QF. I saw a lot of Eubanks' match against Tsitsipas. He is looking inspired, particularly at the key turning points. To think that he had never played a main draw match at Wimbledon before this year is amazing. The Mallorca title triumph on grass has transformed his career.

For me, partially because of his abominal politics, supporting genocide, spreading misinformation and disinformation related to vaccines, and generally behavior outside tennis ...

Hopefully Sinner can stop him in the SF. I think it's an even match-up, despite the great haul of trophies on Novak's side.

An Alcaraz-Sinner final would be terrific.

There was once a match between Federer and Sampras. That changed course in tennis. Are we seeing a similar match today?
