Re: Repairs/Changes to the site
So if there is ppl interesting to play some games pls open up.We will decide .Atithee wrote:Bujilover,
It is not that there is no 'intention' to have such games; rather, there is little interest. We do have the March madness occasionally (Jaydeep runs that) and we were regular (weekly) hosts of a fantasy golf tournament that has now been in hibernation.
This forum, more than any else I've seen, is truly run by its members. If you have an appealing idea, by all means put it forward. If it appeals to several people, it will take off. Just start a thread.
Thanks.

OK I found the error. I need to reset permissions on each individual forum. Have done so on a couple but will do so on each one later tonight.Kumar wrote:Dhurv, 'View Active Topics' does not seem to work

Re: Repairs/Changes to the site
I'm waiting too for Golf topics to show up in the Active Topics. Although, I do get the new posts in the Golf forum when I click "View new posts" (available only after login), but I would like to see it in Active Posts too.

Re: Repairs/Changes to the site
Actually, the "view new posts" section has posts that I have already read all the time. I kinda remember that it wasn't so earlier but I'd really like this feature to work like it is supposed to. So Dhruv, could you please also look into this issue when you look at the reported issue?

Re: Repairs/Changes to the site
The "View New Posts" button shows all posts that appeared since the current browser was opened. So if you are someone who stays with the same browser all through the day, you will find posts that you have already read still showing up. One way out is to use the "Show unread posts" button -- this gives all posts that you haven't read.

This has been pending for long time. Golf tournaments posts still doesn't show up in Active Topics. Obviously Dhruv is not seeing the forum regularly. Can some one directly email him about this.ajay wrote:I'm waiting too for Golf topics to show up in the Active Topics. Re: Repairs/Changes to the site
I, for one, would like that bug to continue (for obvious vested reasons)
Dhruv, is it possible to get some option to actually omit certain sub-forums or parts of the forum from appearing in the active list or unread posts lists. I have a whole bunch of golf and motor-racing posts keep appearing in the lists because I do not read them and I read the rest. I do not want to see these at all ever. Absolutely no interest. I know that may require a lot of work to enable, but, I have been taught to never shy from asking Such a feature would be a great help.

Absolutely agree. I would like to not see anything related to hockey. Or golf.

It would be good for the site if the new page opens in a new window when we click on a link
