Shivang Mishra thread ...
He doesn't quite qualify for a thread yet, as we normally start one only if a player has won a Futures. But Shivang Mishra has made the QF of an overseas Futures (in Senegal!) this week, after making the R2 in the same country last week. And we have Samarth's testimonial about him being a really nice guy, so here is his very own thread...

Re: Shivang Mishra thread
Thanks PKB for starting Shivang's thread ... This thread will be more for his continuous effort to succeed on the tour with participating in overseas Futures.

Re: Shivang Mishra thread
I guess he is the only guy tries to win hard earned points playing outside India. There are many players ranked above him by winning points in India. It's good people winning points in their home soil. Thats why the tournaments are organised for. But credit should go to someone who regularly plays outside.

Re: Shivang Mishra thread
It is a misconception to think that all tournaments outside are tougher than home. The field at Senegal is weak. Anyways, Shivang Misra deserves a thread for his untiring effort. Go Shivang

Re: Shivang Mishra thread
Shivang not able to progress further.
[QF] Shivang MISHRA (IND,1204) l. (6) Abdul-Mumin BABALOLA (NGR,785) 26 46
Still perhaps the best week in his career so far should spur Shivang for taking biger strides in the coming weeks & months.

Re: Shivang Mishra thread
Some nice pictures of the Senegal tournament on the ITF website including a few of Shivang. Looks a lovely place. The courts look fantastic, a nicely equipped gym, internet access and a pool and restaurant. Hats off to Senegal.

Re: Shivang Mishra thread
Is he the one watching the action in picture 39? Otherwise, there just seems to be one photo of him...
Shivang is still ranked a rather modest 1055 (well below his career-high of 961 four years ago). I wish he had played in the India Satellite circuit...

Yep that's him in pic 39 with that beaming smile. Pic 11 is also of him in action but you can't really make him out in the pic.

Yes, indeed. He keeps working hard, taking the tough route of overseas tournaments with little money or points in the bag. Besides, Samarth has told us he's a really nice guy! He rarely loses in R1 these days, after we started the thread!

Shivang Mishra thread ...
Dude.. I know it"s a long overdue question but I guess Shivang is currently nursing a Shoulder and back injury. He at the moment is ranked modestly at 1306.
Let's hope he gets well soon and gets back in action on court.
